Old aquaintances by Ben Black (Member 10018475) on 1-Nov-2000
Anyone know the whreabouts of Carla Thompson who lived in South Green until 1993 or thereabouts
before moving to Wales? I used to live near her and went to South Green Primary Schools where she
also went. I'm just interested to know what she's up to now.

  • Re: Old aquaintances by Sarah Baker (Member 10022619) on 30-Dec-2000
She was in my year at Billericay but I never really knew her. Then, coincidentally, I worked with her over the summer. Unfortunately I don't know where she lives or what she is even doing now. She must be around in Billericay somewhere though!

Somehow I've managed to be pulled back to the Billericay area and someone recently told me about this website. Thought I'd see if I'd remember anyone or even know anyone. There are a few names that are familiar which was nice but on the whole it seems that there were a lot of people who passed through that I didn't meet.

Didn't actually intend to stay here that long and I still have to pinch myself that it's been this long already. If you or anyone else is interested, I'l be back in Ricky Town in a couple of weeks and will be in the Crown on Saturday 31st March sipping a couple of pints.

  • Re: Information by Suzanne Evans (Member 10023275) on 8-Jan-2001
The are 2 schools with 6th forms in Billericay. (1) Billericay School, School Road, Billericay, and (2) Mayflower School, Stock Road, Billericay. They are very similar and there itn't much to chose from them as far as local standing goes. But each offer different courses. Otherwise most local kids go to college at Southend or Chelmsford.

    Hi Daren Mootoo,

I'm still living in the area (Ramsden Heath), and of all the names you mentioned, the only one I see ocassionaly is Keith Wood, who lives over the Mountnessing Road side of town. I still see his sister Suzanne who lives up in Suffolk, and a few other CHS girls. Mail me when you get a mo.

I have been to Billericay School today and the School Hall is available on the 15th June 2002. I have also spoken to several teachers who would love to come. I would be pleased if anyone has any photos if they could send them to me so that I can start to make a display board up.
Please keep spreading the message of the reunion.
The more who are able to come the better.

    Hi Larry,
We were not in the same year but you mentioned Tracey Whatley who was in my year. Do you have her contact details? I'd love to get in touch with her again as would my mum with her mum.
    Thanks Nilgün Suphi.

I was at Billericay School 1970-1975 and remember your name, I certainly remember the twins,Hilary and Julia and some of the other names you mention. I live in Somerset now with my wife and son. Often wonder what happened to people from our era, even some of the teachers. Saw Gary Martindil at Colin Sharmans 40th. Like to hear from anyone who knew me.

Hello Danny (from Julia - one of the twins) how are you? I was wondering if anyone else would spot these messages. My two daughters go to Billericay school now. The only teachers I actually met again were Mr Rushton (French teacher) he has retired now and Mr Garood (he was the law teacher). I met him at a parent's evening, he hasn't changed at all. We both couldn't stop laughing at each other... more >>

Great to hear from you, Julia, this site has brought loads of memories flooding back. I can't believe Mr. Garood is still at the school, he was a great teacher, if you see him again give him my regards. I used to be in touch with Mick Hart, Ian Richards and Gay Martindil but haven't seen them for ages. Who was involved in your mini reunion? For the last 10 years my wife and I have been running our... more >>

Hello again. You said you had kept in touch with Mick Hart for a while - he turned up at my house a few years' ago, out of the blue, to join in with weight-training with a few others and my husband! His brother Loll also came along and my husband and I have been friends with him ever since. The re-union was with Carole Myers, Ann (ginger hair) and another Carole, Suzanne Schuler and Linda Hemms.... more >>

Well well well, now this section holds a whole bunch of names that I remember. Tony (Prof)Stacey this end. Not quite the same rebel that used to hang around Billericay, now a respectable businessman on second (and last) marriage with 5 girls and 5 grandchildren. Perhaps some of you may wish to send me an email and have a good laugh at the antics that we all (especially me) got upto. Is Pete Ma... more >>
