• The Astronaut???!!! NOOO! It is the only pub where to be able to play pool you HAVE to play the champ... even if the champ is out of the country at the time! No champ around = no pool. What's the point? And as soon as you walk in, everything stops, y'know, in Westerns when the sheriff walks in the saloon and everyone drops what they're doing, including the piano and barman? That's what it's like!

• Sorry to see Derek the landlord of the astronaut is leaving,We'll probably get that funny cigarette smell back again.It's been heaven with just the normal law abiding people in there.
• opened in a time of 60's space age optimism "the Astronaut" heralded a brave new era. At some point the dream turned sour and this pit of desolation now serves to house a pitiful array of alcholics passing 12 hours a day staring up through skylights watching the 22nd century pass them by.

• Billingham TUC Social club is a top hangout to many of the genetic experiments created since Billingham's growth as a town in the 1920's. One can mingle with a host of the town's finest inbreds and enjoy a game of Bingo to boot.
• Cor this is one thing Billy isn't short of. The Stoney Oak on High Grange Avenue is a personal fave.
