• my dad peter davenport was born in birkenhead and lives in birkenhead now. He has played for many prof. football clubs including nottingham forest and man united. He has also played football for england. Please include him as people think he is a scouser which he isn't. He is from BIRKENHEAD AND PROUD OF IT!
• How about the famous (I think) American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne? He wrote The Scarlet Letter among a heap of others stories, but of some interest to some is the fact that for several years he was the US Consul in Liverpool about 1850, and lived in Rock Ferry (Rock Park to be exact)

• kate robbins was brought up in higher tranmere her parents still live on mount road, ray stubbs, ian rush, jamie and louise redknapp all live on the wirral i know its not birkenhead but not everyone moves to the best place around

• Wilfred Owen, who went to Birkenhead Institute. A once proud school that found itself surrounded by the pit of the Wirral (not all the residents, just the drug dealing smackhead scum that now seems to populate the North End), and was rightly closed down.

• Lily Savage used to live in Birkenhead (and was a very good mate of my dads), and Sonja (the singer, a very long time ago used to live here. Also numerous characters from Brookside, as well as the stunt double for Arnold Swazeneger!
• Hunter (ex Gladiator, ended up doing time for dealing drugs etc) - lives in Oxton opposite the Queens Arms

• Freddie Starr used to live on Woodchurch Road, Birkenhead !! Warrior is no longer living in Birkenhead the poor thing. He is enjoying himself at a hotel with free fod and a soap on a rope !
