• T for 2 Cafe, 17, Rose Mount, Oxton Village, Birkenhead, Merseyside. 0151 652 6342. Best Breakfast & bacon butties in town.
• Waterstones sell lovely coffee.
• Moose Coffee in Oxton. Very new. Quite swanky. Not too busy. Still finding it's feet in late 2006 - but clients are quite hot (i.e. totty). Needs more comfy chairs, but otherwise not too expensive and should be a good place when it matures.

• Maria and Pete run a really friendly family run clean Tea room at the rear of their Delicatessen in the heart of Oxton village opposite the Oxton Bar and Terrace...had enough beer? try their excellent fresh coffee, no smoking too...yippee!

• The Harbour Lights cafe in Claughton Village serves excellent food, the staff are really pleasant and you can get a great value meal. They also serve Sunday Roast which is loverly, open daily from 7.30 to 2.30
• Bizarrely, the best cafe is in 'Beattie's' department store (Grange Road). Inexpensive, generous and clean. The downside, is that you'll have to sit between massed ranks of blue-rinsed 'Daily Mail' readers. Although this could be stimulating.
• Barneys Cafe Oxton Road, just below the post office. Superb breakfast and sarneys
• Maples is THE best
• The Coffee Mill in Borough Pavement (near Beatties) definately has the best coffee in town. Great home cooked grub and brilliant butties. The all day brekky is brill!
• The Biscuit barrel cafe in the Dixie Dean aisle in Birkenhead market is an absolute must the food isn't exactly Anthony Warrel Thompson,more like Jamie Oliver on drug's.But the girl are all absolute diamons there is Jackie who has a slight wind problem,Helen a lovely buxom blonde with all the gossip,Annie who if you don't finish your dinner will zapp you with a cattle prod,Roxie and Ann-Marie who actually both serve up a mean sausage butty.And last but certainly not least the most Beautiful "Becca"(Grrrrr!!! easy tiger)who is tip top totty,although she does a sort of scowl now and again that would stop a bull elephant in charge.But all these gorgeous Girlies have a great sense of humor and your bound to have a laugh this is a must place to visit.
• Waterstones in Grange Road - I just lurve their coffee.
• Cajobah again - the best light lunches, morning coffee and afternoon teas in Birkenhead. And yes we do like to see everyone of all ages!!
• Coffee Republic in Waterstones is small, but better than the one in London I went to. Barneys Cafe at the bottom of Oxton Road provides the best fried breakfast ever.
