Cafes and Coffee Shops
- Ginger's on Poplar Road is a top cafe. Lovely people, well priced food. Away from chav hubbub on High Street...
- There are several cafes along the road along the side of Safeway, off the high street. There is a cafeteria in the rebuilt indoor little market.
- There's a great little cafe on The Green called Manteli's it has a huge menu, great breakfasts and ver reasonable too. The locals phone in their lunch orders and then come in and collect them, and they have a website too www.mantelis.co.uk, well worth a look!
- The bun and biscuit is on popular road...it might have changed names now but they do really good warm buttered toast and pancakes. My brother once asked for some buns and biscuits and they looked really sheepish and said they didn't have any. I guess that is why they changed the name!
- 'Peacefulmind' a great new cafe at 46 Poplar Road. Great atmosphere - peaceful and friendly. Perfectly reasonably priced with a big selection of good coffees, late's espresso's etc etc, plus good variety of teas. Home made cakes, biscuits, and snacks and toasted sandwiches. Open daytime Mon - Sat. Has the added bonus of running meditation courses and classes to reduce stress that actually work!
- The Three Bakers has closed (Dec 2001) and is now a Phones 4 U shop - like Kings HEath needed another mobile phone shop!!
- Hoagies on Kings Heath High Street is AMAZING. Gorgeous food for not much money, hipper atmosphere than most around here, and best cup of coffee on the High Street.
- The greasy spoon in the Shop2Shop complex does a GREAT full English breakfast all day.
Well worth it. You can have a fag and read the paper while you wait for your heaped plate to arrive.
- too many to mention, try PUBS.
- Three Cooks, on the High Street.
Cornerstone (run by religious fanatics).
Druckers, on St. Mary's Row (Moseley).
