• Stainers, Co-op Spar Barleycorn Crown Two indian restaraunts one is called friends, i cant rember what the other one is called- friends is better.
• Paul's Plaice chippy - excellent chips.
• the Indian and chinese are both good food and good value.
• The Silver River Chinese has never let me down, and you can understand what they say too!!!! The Waltham Tandoori is a fantastic place to eat, or takeaway. The staff are really helpful and friendly, and a free shot of sambucca always goes down well....!!!!
• The Wine bar on the high Street does fantastic food.
• The BW wine bar/restaurant is excellent, as is Banks wine bar/restaurant. Also try the little wine shop which has a pretty patio area out the back and does a small selection of hot food. The curry house is also fab and give you a free drink after your meal - Sambucca or Cointreau!
• The Crown is now serving food at lunch times. The Wine Bar, although a little pricey, is nice.

• The chippy on the High Street ranks among the best in the country, huge portions and good quality.
• Vines chip shop always taste reasonable when you are pissed. Wouldn't advise it when you're sober though.
• Again, the Palm Tree coffee shop (Lovely cakes).
• Chinky (closed mondays)...be carefull to avoid the cockroaches...otherwise smashing spicy beef mandarin styleee....used to have a little chef...dwelling place of the tadpole townies...oh dear...how it is missed
