The Knowhere Guide

The Worst Things in Blackheath, Greater London*

The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

You can tell us more about Blackheath.

The Worst Things
  • There is a Blackheath Big Meet on the 15th July 2005 from 6pm onwards outside the princess of wales pub on the heath.bring music, food and drink, games, blanket etc....see you there!!!Lottie and Hannah - blackheathbigmeet@hotmail.co.uk
  • Its too busy and getting spoilt. People from outside blackheath should need a visa to get in! In the end this was one of the reasons why I moved away from the area after 10 years.
  • Too many trucks on Shooters Hill Road.
  • Snobby shops/posey people
  • The traffic. Can get clogged up (the A2 at Deptford was closed due to subsidence for much of 2002, and it could take half an hour for a bus to crawl half a mile into the village during peak periods)
  • Eltham is way too close, same goes for Woolwich and Kidbrooke. Oh, and did anyone mention the Firkin?
  • Too many cars speeding through the village.
  • Can be a bit nimbey at times
