Cheap Food
- is there such a thing?
- Not many in the town can be much cheaper than Sally's in the market. Munch on your bacon sarnie whilst inhaling the sweet sickly aromas from the newlly installed "natural soaps" stall, where the cd & dvd people used to be. Once shared a rickety table with a man and his crutches (those afflicted with some sort of mobility problem make up a sizeable majority in Blackheath), his opening gambit for conversation was "Oooh I'm trouble me. People normally cross the road to avoid me." I see. His mum was in tow too, but time was getting on so I left it there.
- The Golden Wok in Halesowen Street sells fantastic Thai food.
- sainsburys is the only place i'd trust. i used to go to the moonlight balti. that was nice. all the other indian restaurants have been closed down for food poisoning then re-opened under new management.
- we dont eat either!
- changea
- Loads of Baltis, Tandooris, Chinese etc.
- please add us to the eating out list. we have served in blackheath for 10 years.
Ask people around the town about the hot pork sandwich trailor, we have a very good reputation. We are the pork of The Town! We are currently situated on the calafornia pub car park. Come and try us you'll then realise why were worth adding to your good food guide.
- You want a Curry? blackheath has loads of curry houses
- good indian food! chinese takeaways and dozens of fish and chip shops
- Better bring sandwiches. Actually just forget the place. BUT: Excellent Balti restaurants. Mate shops. (local slang for butcher's shop)
- Usual fayre; Braggs and Sayers bakers, the odd mobile food bar ... nothing special. There used to be a cafe near the market.
