Buskers, Street Entertainers
  • Does anyone else remember (we're talking late '70s-early 80s) the hilarious Irish geezer who had a bowler hat pinned to a hidden - and very long - strip of hair? He used to go aroudn town on his jolly way, tipping his hat to passers-by, thus making the hat spin round & round his head in a very curious way. What a star. They ouGht to give such people knighthoods rather than to useless snide tossers from certain very famous 60s bands. We can't forget the famous landlord of The Alex. In hsi time (is he still there?) he banned the entire human species from this drinking establishment.
  • JHONNY BLU EYES WHERES HE GONE?
  • you get a guy playing guitar down the high street and he is quite good but very weird and there is the banjo man (he frequently gets the piss taken out of him)
  • JOHNNY BLUE-EYES was an accomplished street magician who could turn your money into his quite easily before you got yo know his tricks. An accomplished beggar with all expenses paid for courtesy of well, er, you and me...
  • The whole of Bognor. I'm originally from Chicago - and have lived all over the world - and I can tell you without hesitation that Bognor is not so much a town as a giant open-air mental institution.
  • There is one fat tramp in the town who asks for money everytime you walk past without fail. Even though she can always manage to drink alcohol and smoke. I ain't giving her money again.
  • Gypsy Lee...apparantly descended from the 'original' gypsy lee (whoever she was) but i will PAY anyone if they ask her to get out her birth certificates like she says she will. £11 for her to spin you a pile of shite about how you'll end up in a top job and have 10 kids blah blah
  • Mad Meredith
  • mike thompson - local bognor ted - wot more can i say
  • snake is my mate
  • The rocking homles jesus geezer (he has a house the faker!!!) he is called the rocking jesus geezer because he just sits hands on side of head rocking back and forth (he also has a tatoo of a cross on his head!) oh and me, if i buy a hat i'll breakdance for cash!
  • Strange "Jesus is in Brighton" guy is very entertaining. I had 2 serve him in my shop once-cudnt keep a straight face with his great bill board and shiny hat
  • The guy that plays the banjo in the High Street is a leagand
  • 2 many. dey share d dog so don't feel sorry 4 it, dats y dey hav it
  • d old man with a cross on his forehead and the 3 blokes who sit around on a sat evening on the high street smoking dope
  • We need a lot more such guys here We get aweekly banjo player - he is good mind; also a woman singing opera ...
  • Weird religius preachers-who bang on about some apocalypse style events and some strange sounding guru outside boots in town-one wears an interesting hat-trouble is bognor has always been doomed
  • The best street entertainment ive ever seen was 2 religous freaks preachers having an arguement down the high street it lasted 2 hours and gained a fair crowd ,wheres the video camera when you need it
  • Tramps, Mr Nash the Mayor!
  • the banjo man is cool
  • Are you a decent busker ? You might like to star in "Moon Over Bognor"--the musical, now being prepared for the Millenium.
  • The Town should be awash with such attractions - shame really.
  • Most Saturday in Bognor Town centre there is usually one or two buskers performing.
