Maesteg Round Table hold their Annual Fireworks Display on Monday 5th November 2007 at Maesteg RFC 7777 Rugby Ground. The display, launched by Westcoast Fireworks, starts at 7.30pm. Food, drink and glow in the darks will be on sale. Prices are �3 for adults, �2 for children and �10 for a family ticket. All profits will go to local charities. Maesteg Round Table is organising a walk to raise money for a charity dedicated to tackling kidney disease in Wales. Part of Kidney Wales Foundation's Walk for Life campaign, the event will start from Maesteg Car Park at 1100 on Sunday 18th March 2007. Funds raised from this year's event will be put towards the charity's research centre into kidney disease based at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, and supporting Renal Nurses throughout Wales. Across Wales last year the Walk for Life campaign raised £85,000. This year's target is at least £100,000. Does anyone have any family history info on Gentina/Gentila and Percy Price who lived at Pleasant View, Brynmenyn in the 1920s? Their daughter Violet was born there in 1924. The Christmas lights will this year be switched on by Rachel Davies a pupil at St Mary's & St Patrick's school. Rachel won the Round Table/Ladies Circle poster design competition which is used to promote the event, which will be held on Saturday 25 November at 4.30 pm following the Parade which will leave Oakwood Drive at 3.45 pm. Father Christmas will be in his Grotto at the Council Offices fo llowing the switch on.
