Cinemas
- Palace is reopening.
The restaurant (classy i know) is already open and has a chef of river cottage.
- go to weymouth
- CLOSED!
- Yes, The Palace, noticed it was closed after wandering up the tiled archade and peering through the gate.I'd travel 200 odd just to do that again and wonder ..........
- Would like one built please!!
- Cinema closed down 3 years ago! thank god!!! it was the only cinema I know where you could hear the pigions in the roof during a film!
- I have just visited Bridport for the very first time and coming from London, where there are so many multi-screen warehouses, I was looking forward to visiting a smaller, more intimate cinema with character such as the one Dorchester has. Reading this guide,it seems that Bridport did used to have a cinema but it is now closed. Why?
- Ha, we used to have the Palace, but it's supposed to be falling down right now. It was supposed to be unsafe to go into nearly three years ago, but it's still standing. Sometimes the Arts Centre shows films as part of the Film Society events, but don't expect Titanic.
- Nearest is Lyme or Dorchester and I believe they are both showing 'Back to the Future' at the moment as the premiere feature.
- Used to have one but they closed it down!!!
- Closed!
- they killed it
- Unfortunately the cinemas shut now! A great loss to the world!!! (and I didn't stop the film all THAT often)!
- A definite classic. The place is ancient, has never made anything but a loss but still it remains open. Brilliant ! Special note should taken of its quaint ropey sound system (two hifi speakers) and the tendency for the left hand side of picture to be our of focus. Also look out for the projectionist stopping the film to shout at naughty boys (Never sit under the balcony !).
