You can tell us more about Bridport.

Pubs
  • a massive selection. Spoons is popular for its prices and location. I love the woodchopper on south street, and kareoke at the nelson is allways a laugh. Look for the smaller places like K2 bar and number 10, my favourites. Tanners is good in the summer and more filled with locals. The ropemakes, aka Dopemakers. The place to go for getting passively stoned, trying to play golf with a pool cue when hideously drunk. Hardyes tavern. trying to go more italian, cos thats a niche market of course??? Great place for 18th birthdays due to a seperate dining room at the back for the family, whilst a large bar for celebratory carnage
  • The MOose

  • The West Bay Hotel is FANTASTIC for food, but book to avoid disappointment!
  • The Royal Oak seems to attract lots of fresh faced punters, and the Dopemakers (uh, Ropemakers) attracts a lot of stoners.
  • The bridport arms in west bay in bridport a lovly little pub nice to go to for a afternoon or late night drink.
  • The Royal Oak is very nice now it's been redecorated and renovated recently, that is if you like being packed in like a sardine and waiting half an hour to get served.
  • The George the only pub and the best beer.
  • Royal Oak Just been done better late nites aswell
  • the Dope, I mean, Rope makers, Number 10, Hardy's, Weatherspoons and the Royal Oak (very young clientele in there though)
  • Hope & Anchor is the tops for good ale and atmosphere! Local CAMRA groups pub of the year in 1999. The Woodman is much improved too.
  • The George (opposite the Town Hall). Grubby, but good atmosphere. 'Palmers 200' worth drinking (brewed just down the road).
  • Can no-one say anything about the pubs of Bridport? OK then I will. Hope and Anchor - free and easy, friendly pub with pleasant landlady and interesting characters to talk to. Greyhound (Wetherspoons) - good choice of ales, efficient staff, but too many steps up to the loos! George - good food and ales, but a bit smoky. Bull - nice country town hotel bar with good ales. Woodman - good ales and pleasant people. Lord Nelson - a real local with long-serving licensees.
  • THE CROWN INN AT PUNCKNOWLE
  • witherspoons and the rest
