• Odeon or UGC at the Marina UGC is bigger but Odeon does orange wednesdays, in fact you could go see a film on the 26th then go to the karaoake at Snafu

• The best cinema around here is probably Crawly's UCG if you don't mind Crawley, or chavs: massive, air conditioning, bar/cafe. I'd stay away from the cinema at Brighton Marina unless you're desparate: sitcky floors, bad service, popcorn and drink-covered chairs, etc. The Orion in Burgess Hill's my local: It's tiny, but go to a late show and there's a great atmosphere.
• Duke of Yorks Beautiful old fashioned cinema, like cinemas should be. Independent films and late night shows.
• UGC is alright but a bit of a mish.
• duke of york. great old building. a tresure. the council will probably demolish it one day to make way for another rediculous one way system/ bus stop. god only knows what. enjoy it while it lasts
• The Gardner Arts Centre holds weekly cinema, at extra cheap prices, theres free parking, a good bus and train service, and even a cafe bar! They have a great web page where you can book online www.gardnerarts.co.uk, or the boxoffice phone number is 01273 685861. You really should go even if its just for the cheap tickets:D
• The Odeans the best. Just a short walk away from the town centre, near all decent clubs, on the seafront and close to the pier.
• Brighton boasts the UGC (student discounts but harder to get to) in the Marina and the Odean (v.expensive but right in the centre of Brighton) by the seafront. however, the Duke's theatre shows older films that haven't been seen for a while, but the viewing public there usually sport grey hair and walking sticks

• Far too expensive, a £2 bus ride will get you to the Dome in Worthing who do latest films for £1.50 most mondays, nice little bar with Newcastle Brown at £2.30, proper ice-cream lady in the interval.
• Duke of Yorks-shows films that nowhere else does. from all over the world.

• Laser Quest down the King Alfred Leisure Centre in Hove is a laugh. If you want to see a film, you're limited to the Odeon in West Street or the Marina, although some friends of mine went to the old cinema on Preston Circus and said that was a laugh.
• The Odeon refit now mean smaller screens with new but still uncomfortable chairs. Hang on for the intended UGC refit this spring - that should make the trip to the marina worthwhile...
• Duke of Yorks - only place to watch "real" movies and eat "real" food while doing so!
• The Duke of York is a good arthouse cinema with oversized, comfy seats.
• Virgin Cinema by the Marina. Oh I would travel to see a film there, if for nothing else there's the Marina to look at whilst you're there.
• The Duke of York's at Preston Circus is good for arthouse stuff, and classics. For new movies, the Odeon on the seafront has recently been refurbished.

• Tip: When going to the Odeon on the seafront, pay 50p extra for the armchairs at the back, not only are they bigger and more comfortable than the ones down the front, but it's like sitting at the opera, as you are much higher than anyone else, and can therefore see more!!!
• Duke of Yorks has some freaky films!
• Duke of Yorks, full range from mainstream Hollywood, to avan t garde, arty, foreign films. ABC, always rumours of closing down but the cheapest. Odeon, 5 screens, mainstream. Virgin, at the Marina. Multiplex. cold, plastic, expensive.
• Bowlplex is a new bowling alley which is really high tech and cool. There's alot more stuff down at the Marina now.
• The Cannon in East Street - May 1998 - is only £2.50 all day every day... looks like this will be a regular promotion
