• I saw the Rabbit Foot Spasm Band at the Old Duke last week and if you get a chance to see them they're excellent, old world jazz with a really dark edge to the songs. What is the best night to catch at the Old Duke and are there any other first class jazz acts visiting Bristol?

• Tyro Cartel - top new bristol band. Went to see them at The Croft last month (went to see another band), and stayed to see these guys headline. In a nut shell they're lively rock, but with some absolutely instantly kicking licks. They can mix it up though. There was a kinda dub tune at the end which was brilliant, and they even tried some acoustic stuff. Definitely going to check them out again. Fortune Drive - another great Bristol band. Can't believe these guys are still not getting signed by anyone. I haven't seen them for two months, but hope they play in the new year sometime.
