Hi Does anyone remember a girl called Karen Wilcoxson who went there in the 60's? Blond hair, blue eyes and v. pretty - she was my best mates sister and I had a blushingly deep crush on her - and you didn't ask your best mates little sister out did you, sigh! Hi Moved to Peckford Place (off Brixton Road Dale Martin wrestling promotions on the corner) in 65 when I was 15, had a ball. Loved Paul's bar in Coldharbour Lane for the pin ball machines and the Ram Jam club for the girls, got barred from Joe Lyons for distracting the counter girls - ditto Woolies. Great Pie and mash shop but could never face the jellied eels. Wonderful record shop in the Granville arcade where we got all our American imports from Stax and Atlantic soul stars. Anyone ever try one of those hot dogs off the stall in the High Street around 11 pm and survive? My mate swore he saw the geezer gob up in the onions once. Still looking for info on a lost relative of my stepfather. Greta Whittall ( nee Emondson) born 1909 Barrow-in-Furness, left or was kicked out of the family home due to a crises not known as my stepfather was only four years old, never heard from or saw her again, knows nothing of her family, just really trying to find what become of his mother during the time she went, her birth certificates sta tes William Edmondson b: 1888 as her father, Angelina Edmondson ( nee Harvey) as mother. 1911 census shows her as an only child at that time aged two, living at 89, Smeaton Street, Cumbria. it is thought that she may have went to London or Scotland, could have remarried had more children whatever. any info would be much appreciated ... more >> Reply
