• The Salterton was a pub now a high class restaurant at really reasonalbe prices, Sunday Lunch is a must - they open lunch and evenings why would you want to go anywhere else. The Feathers - clickie, not local - go away The King William - too many young drinkers for me. Sorry, but for my money The Salterton Arms has it all - Keep up the good work, and put Budleigh back on the map - that's a 2005 map not 1945.
• SALTERTON ARMS - NOT LONGER A PUB GREAT - IT REALLY IS A FANTASTIC NON-SMOKING RESTAURANT - WITH OUT DOUBT THE BEST IN THE WEST - YOU HAVE GOT TO GO, YOU WANT BELEIVE YOU SENSES
• For Pub grub, the Feathers is superb,lovely beer (3 real ales is usual) Joan and John Salt (landlord/lady are the best we've had for years) gets busy !! The "king william" younger crowd, does grub, bit more "working mans" but cant fault it, nice staff. The "Dog and Donkey" on the road out of town at Knowle, "Rob" the landlord is a great guy, nice food and real ale, bass out of the barrel!!. The Salterton Arms, used to be the best Food pub in town, live Jazz, great grub, now a "restaurant, with a bar", you cant even buy a bag of nuts here. Blatantly not interested in drinkers anymore, from being an atmospheric pub, this place now has as much atmosphere as the "Mia Space Station,with the doors open"!!!
• If you're not local born and bred, they are as clicky as hell. Pretend that you own a tractor and you'll be fine.
• Pubs in Budleigh are pretty dire, The Feathers , The Salterton..umm, oh The Billy (as locals call it ) all the sort of place which falls silent when you enter- ie you're not from round these parts..,etc.. But I am, I am, I just haven't been here for a while ! And I wonder why?!
• Hopeless pubs. I was unfortunate enough to spend New Years Eve there and I still get down when I think about it.
• ....as above for food. Feathers- bog standard local King William-kiddies(16+) in the evenings Budleigh Arms - the 'creme de la creme' of the 3....and deservedly so!!
