• They used Budleigh Salterton in a classic Blackadder once when Edmund was fiscally challenged and delivered the memorable line: "Goodbye millionaires row, hello room twelve of the Budleigh Salterton twighlight years rest home for the terminally short of cash.
• Must give a mention to the music festival Budstock which used to come to Budleigh every year, with local bands doing their bit. It was organised by Toby Holroyd who has sadly died, but it definately livened up Budleigh's social scene .
• Transport- no train (Beeching!!) Bus- frequentish(20/25 mins)....at end of a branch-line!! TOWN CENTRE> Really the length of the High Street....but most shops clustered at western end. Ambience> Genteele.....but only a shadow of its old reputation Perhaps less of an enclave now, tending to be half commuter towmn for Exeter
