  • the white lion great live music fridays, disco /karaoke once a month friendly people darts pool etc gilly the landlady a good laugh its taken time but she has turned it round/the bar staff do there best to make you feel welcome
  • Music at the White Lion much improved - no crap bands - all good stuff every Friday and Saturday - best pub rock venue for miles! The Chequers still a good traditional pub night out any night of the week.
  • white lion, cheaqueas, rule and compass, new inn, war mamorial
  • The White Lion - weekend live music much improved in the last 2 years - well done Bob! best live music in the area.
  • The best beer around can be found at Olde Chequers Inn
  • everyone know the local youth club opposite the lion. need i say more if your over 65 or you enjoy the "older type" why not check out the weavers! fancy a fight go to the lion. or simply to see sinead (she went to be a porn star you know, not surprisingly she failed)
  • Things looking up at the White Lion. The bands these days are all good. If you like live music this is the place to be most Fridays and Saturdays. The Olde Chequers Inn, Sara and Tim have done a good job in building on the friendly atmosphere and have added a restaurant.
  • The White Lion - definite improvement in the live bands on Friday, and increasingly Saturday, nights - keep it up Bob!
  • Lion, Rule, Cheqers, New Inn, Weston Hall, Corner House, Weavers Arms, Working Men's and War Memorial Clubs....... Have I missed any?
  • The New Inn a real hard drinkers pub at times, never any trouble and always a real laugh. Nice lounge which serves very good food 7 days a week.
  • Lion and Rule in villge center used to be ok but are now full of the same sad loosers every night. New Inn, Weavers Arms and Chequers are better and you actually have to be 18 to get served!!! I'm only 21 but feel like I'm the oldest one in the pub when I am in the Rule!
  • The Lion
  • New Inn, Chequers and Weavers are OK, Lion and Rule used to be Ok but are now full of kids!
  • dont go down the new inn its full of coppers
  • Friday night at the "Lion" can be good, can also be crappy - depends on the "live music" The clientelle at the Rule and Compass are very fresh faced!
