• I have noticed a on this website a not about the Fox and duck in Aspenden being shite... Totally incorrect under new management 13 months ago, this is the place to go with or without the family and good honest run pub, great ales and a burning open fire... with the added advantage of fantastic home cooked food... I don't smoke but for those that do an area covered and heated in the garden awaits you... if you haven't been for a while make an effort it's worth it..
• The Cock at Stockin Pelham - A country pub with friendly staff and atmosphere. The food is excellent you get loads and the prices are sensible.
• the sailors is by far the best pub in town,paul is a good laugh(more so when he is pissed),and ruth has a nice set of norks for her age
• The Railway pub in Buntingford has been taken over. The new landlay took over just a couple of months ago. Her name is Sue and she knows how to run a happy and lively pub. The pub has a function room directly next to it and lots of parties and gatherings go on in there. There is a restaraunt in the back bar and the food is really great. Sue has transformed the atmosphere in this pub. Everyone is felt welcome no matter what age. The staff will always greet you with a smile and a hello whether you are 18 or 80. Green King IPA, Worthington, Tetleys, Stella Artois and Fosters together with normal and cold Guinness is sold. The Chequers pub unfortunately is closing down, so I hear. That is where a lot of youngsters used to meet before going on to parties and cinemas etc. The landlady and landlord had tried very hard to keep the pub going but have now decided to call it a day. I think the best pub in Buntingford now is The Railway.
• Welcome to the town that thrives on Pub culture. There are about ten (A guess) here. Many are respectable here and are enjoyable to visit. The best for youth gatherings (Over 18's) would be 'The Fox and Duck' with 'The Chequers' and 'The Railway' following close behind. An up and coming venue is 'The Fox' in Aspenden which is in walking distance. Many are flocking there to enjoy the proper country pub atmosphere.
• The Jolly Sailors is by far the best pub in Buntingford. Warm, friendly a pub for the young and old alike. Friday nite always a good bet.
• Don`t forget the Landlady at the Crown!!. Her Bar food is brilliant. Home cooked and to order. Try the Mad Cow Pie, its mouthwatering!!!

  • The Crown has the best beer for many a mile and a gigantic and jolly landlord. However, it does not welcome anyone under 40, or strangers (not resident for more than 30 years).
