the victoria hotel now does good food and has great accomadation,ps and great tasting real ales.
conifers is no longer there ,
and the dellie in adams street has also gone.
- Fox and Goose at Brent Knoll, just outside Burnham, has a very extensive menu and some good beers, but look out if the manager serves you,he can be a tad abrubt! but all adds to the atmosphere!
- Fox and Goose at Brent Knoll, Highbridge serve really nice food and some good real ales, but unfortunately Manager is moody and agressive. Only go if hes not on!
- The Pier cos it's got a late license
- The Royal Clarence on the seafront is not what it was and the brewery mentioned moved long ago to new premises in West Huish where they continue to thrive.
- The Pier - 'cos Jackie has a great pair of Hurricanes and needs a bit of TLC.
- Queens Hotel, Pier Street
Pier Tavern, Pier Street
Clarnece Hotel, Sea Front.
Somerset and Dorset, High Street
Railway Hotel, High Street
Victoria Hotel, Victoria Street
Crown Hotel, Oxford Street
- If you want to wait at least two hours to get a meal then try the Rosewood Hungry Horse. You'll wait for ages evenwhen they are not visibly busy....no wonder the horse is hungry!!!!!!
- It has to be said, one of the first things that you notice when you move away from Burnham is the quality beer that is served there. No I`m not joking the S+D Really does do a great pint of Stella, somewhat over priced but none the less still very good, the real ale on the other hand is a bit crap.As for the rest of the many pubs they all have their own characture, for a while you can enjoy the atmosphere and then move on to the next one and join in on one of the most conveniently set out pub crawls available to beer monsters everywhere. And if your lucky can join in on some of the landlords "flexible" hours of trade, for one or two extra sherbets
- Start in The Railway, couple of pints. Move on to The Pier, unless full of idiots, next stop The Queens and get yourself served by the fresh faced Ms Peel. She has a smile for every boozer.
- The S & D in the High street is a remarkable place. Me and my mate Dave often think that this is like one of those STAR TREK places where the visitors have two heads and large sprouts growing out of their necks. The sad part though is that this is the place to be on a Friday night, especially if you CANNOT do Karioke!!!
- Somerset & Dorset (Top of the High Street) is an very pleasant pub - holds a Quiz Night every Monday evening about 20.45. £1 per person entry fee with no restriction to number in team. Good fun.
- There's a fantastic INN named the Royal Clarence which also happens to be a Brewery!
