• Eric Makin of footballing fame through the glory years of the "Old Boys. The team put Burtonwood on the local sporting map for many years.
• My great grandad Ernie Cowley use to sing alot in the Catholic Club (his pics are still there to this day in the side entrance hall) - anyway he made a record 'donkey sernade' plus others - proud as punch of him.
• Antony Smith - the unluckiest man in the world. Who else do you know who gets run over on his 19th birthday and then shouts 'Where's me shoe??' He also seems to get excrement all over his clothes in various locations (Burtonwood CP School, Great Sankey High, Kavos) Finally, he's the worst footballer in the North, dubbed 'Michael Flatley' on the terraces. Oh, and he also crashed a crane into a 15 grand machine and was sacked for being a safety hazard at Hi-Tec Steel Services.
