- Calne Skateboarding is, well...dead...but never the less, we shouldnt just stop skating because its dead it was once never here it got here somehow it can come back again, we just need people with comitment in what they do, i mean "Comitment", want to do it do it, practice and more practice, then we will have a new generation of young skaters, and maybe even get a better park, no point complaining for a park if no one skates, about spots in calne there arent many, but theres the Bowl, which is A space (at least we have one)for people to practice their sport, dont carry on dreaming the council will do something because they need to see that we want a new park to build us one, so lets show them, by building our own stuff to show were comited and want one, then maybe they will build us one if not oh well, we can carry on building our own ramps, mini-ramp, rail...etc, i searched on how to make a mini ramp its pretty easy we have enough people jsut gotta do it, get to work Boys...

- bowl again not very good for skating sainsburys is better but you will get some for the security guard.
- Yep there's a "bowl", where lots of people hang out, a good sociolizing spot!
- The BMX/skate park has been built [1997] and is very succesful. It is just by the fire station and it's pretty sorted. Basically it has one good jump for skaters, two or three jumps for BMX'ers and a sort of small spine for bladers. It has a big U shape at one end which is the biggest jump. We have had a lot of attention from some real good skaters and even some who were sponsored. Being a snow boarder at heart, I'm still waiting for the dry ski slope. I may have a long wait. Apart from the obvious disadvantage of being situated in Calne, the skate park has survived remarkably well with minimal complaints from old people. It is quite a thriving hangout for a lot of the younger kids of Calne and has become a haven for skivers what with it being so close to the school.
- Calne Youth Centre: Rareunit 8' wide mini. Calne used to have a strong skating scene, but I think it's died. Home to a group of guys who were there at the birth of streetskating and teaching people the tricks, they were actually known as Bristol regulars! As for skate spots, if you follow the river Marden towards the scummy side of town, there's this weird and wonderful piece of abstract concrete which is hidden away from public view. Its about 6" high and shaped like a Mexican hat centre-piece. The centre has the right combination of concrete to learn and develop solid tricks. There's a trading estate on the side of town heading towards Swindon, this holds a few surprises (concrete banks, sliders, and a RSG manufacturer!), hang around the food factories and hassle for food, cream cakes galore.
