  • ART & CRAFT FAIR @ THE FISHER HALL CAMBRIDGE CB2 3QQ - EVERY SATURDAY FROM 10 AM - 5 PM.
  • kettles Yard art gallery, its free
  • I've been to a great craft shop called Penco, in the Grafton Centre, they do a great range of craft materials and art stuff, plus some great fine art prints. Also went to their website, www.pencoukltd.co.uk, definitely worth a look.
  • Good Craft Fair every so often near the Round Church
  • The Picture Gallery on Fitzroy street....a great place to buy a prezzie!
  • Check out the new Jesus Lane emporium. lovely stuff, and far too quiet. Go there quick before it closes down. you will be very pleasantly surprised.
  • cool bloke who makes necklaces works from the market in trinity square, -- great place to go for all things "nice"
  • fitzwilliam museum.
  • Sunrise outside Grafton centre, jewelry and stuff
  • Kettle's Yard is an art gallery some of the time, a real lived-in house the rest of it - it's great. And All Saints Craft Fair does have its odd inspired stall holder. The range of classical music is great, especially during term time; steal a copy of Varsity from a passing student to find out when the free lunchtime concerts are.
  • WOW on Rose Crescent, All Saints and loads of craft fairs in the area - look in Central Library for info
  • Fisher Hall has a lots of really good craft stalls (ranging from paintings and pottery to silk scarves to those metal puzzles which you can never _quite_ see hoe they work...)on every day except Sunday (it's just off Market Square by the Red Cow), and All Saint's Garden opposite Trinity has a similar craft market each Saturday. Craft shops include Robert Sayle's small offshoot shop just past the main building (all sorts of crafts, especially embroidery/tapestry/knitting stuff), Helmsleys Embroidery Shop near Magdalene College by the river, and a tiny little sewing machine/wool shop on King's Parade (Oh, not to forget the tiny Singer shop between the Grafton Centre and The Boat Race). There's also Heffer's Art and Crafts on Kings Street, and a smaller art shop halfway along Victoria Road. Heffer's gifts/stationary type shop near Market Square is also prtty useful...
  • Radar on Kings Street, for picking up all the accesories needed for the consumption of a certain substance often consumed by Mr Bob Marley. Sun rise: Out side the main entrance to the Grafton centre [out of main doors and first shop on left hand side of the street] selling the same accesories plus pukka alternative clothing. Alternative clothing sale:At the guildhall every week , fliers usually being handed out, cheap clothes ,buy , sell, exchange, 70's ,skate fashion etc ,plus great record stall with loads of classic vinyl and chart cd's and tapes going dirt cheap , definetley wortha look.
  • Cambridge arts & crafts fair has all the useless homemade crap you could ever want.
  • One of the BEST things about Cambridge is a little place called Kettle's Yard. - It's a row of cottages which has been turned into a haven for 20th century art, sculpture, and "found" objects. It's unpretentious and beautiful, including work by people like Constantin Brancusi, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, Barbara Hepworth, David Jones,Joan Miro, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson, Winifred Nicholson and Christopher Wood. You can sit in the simple wooden furniture and read books from the library, look at the art, meet friends...whatever you like. It also has a contemporary art gallery attached with exhibitions which change about once every 6-7 weeks and feature a variety of the young, or more established artists of our time. Kettle's Yard also runs a series of chamber music concerts and sometimes Jazz concerts in the house. If you are at all interested in art, interior design or music, it's well worth a visit. Call for current programme on 01223 352124, or e-mail fjb22@ cam.ac.uk
  • Yes, Kettle's Yard is brilliant. The Fitzwilliam is also a great museum if a bit random, and worth exploring. Whatever you're interested in they'll have some of it, and it's a lovely building to just wander through. good cake also.
