The places where you buy your music
You can tell us more about Cambridge.
Record Shops
- FOPP is the coolest, it has indie stuff and mainstream too, on sidney street
- Jay's records and Parrot are ok. Apart from that it's just the usual high street HMVs etc.

all your commercial stuff like HMV,Fopp etc

- hmv in lion yard
record shop on sydney street - can't remember name
- Fopp now that Pirate records has closed
- Fopp
- Fopp records -usually selection of good stuff for a fiver
- Parrot Records
- Black Wax
Street Wise
Fopp
- Streetwise music for tapes of D&B, Hardcore etc. you can't find anywhere else.
- JAYS RECORDS !!!
- Parrott Records are good for cheapness. new CDs are usually only a tenner.
- Fopp-newly opened where cult used to be and great for cheapy but still recent albums, dvd and decks.
- HMV is the best, because not only do they have the biggest range of music and movies the staff are FITT!
- Andy's records, especially upstairs for old 45s
- parrot records on kings street, a great store selling many great records.
- HMV has the best range of records - lion yard - but parrot is way cheaper and worth a look - you don't want to be kicking yourself when you find an album in there you spent a fiver more on ten minutes earlier in HMV
- Parrot records down Kings St.
- HMV actually sells 7"s, which is good, and saves the effort of walking over to Jays. the cd and record sale at the Alt Clothing Sale is cool too
- parrot records-fantastic alternative music store, good fro outcats of greebo people!
- HMV - lots of youngsters trying to be DJ's. Cheese available!
Streetwise - Wicked selection of music but the people behind the counter are usually moody b***ards
Rhythm Syndicate - Round the back of Grafton Center. Breeder's shop. Wicked for progressive/trance + excellent people.
- Jays Records, better than the big boys.
- Parrot on King Street
- Virgin at the Grafton Centre, guy on Tuesday's market stall
- PARROT,JAYS AND THE OVERPRICED HMV
- Parrot, Kings St - simply the best for any vaguely Indie, Jazz, Rock, cheap reissues etc.
- Cambridge has really crappy record shops. You're okay if you like pop or classical, otherwise - though.
- Parrot records is very cheap and great for music that went out of fashion ten years ago.
- The guy on the market... the very best place to get stuff that is hard to find elsewhere
- Parrots on King's Road (near Midsummer's Common) probably cheapest for new CDs (can't listen to much, though, they only have a tape machine) and Jays (which is near the Grafton Centre). Streetwise Records is near Parrots, and is mainly second hand stuff with some live bootlegs. Also Unicorn Records, King Street. Apart from that, if you like being ripped off with a minimal choice of vinyl, go to Our Price or HMV, both in the city centre. Also Andy's Records. Also, Jays on Burleigh St has a good selection of dance 12s, albums and CDs. Their attitude can be down right unfriendly, though -- it depends who serves you. Planet Boom on Newmarket Road is the only shop in Cambridge that really qualifies as a specialist dance music shop -- ie you can get them to just play you stuff in a particular style, and pick any you like.
- David's Music. Shit hot store, with everything from pantera to pavtrotti (is this spelt right?)
- Go to London.
- max rees in kingston st (town side of mill road bridge on the left) good us import shop.
