- It's small, but substantial, and its very much itself. People off the island may laugh but it is a nice place. I'd be happy living there. The place is nice. Nice areas to live. Sure, the shops aren't brilliant. But what do you expext? Harrods? I love the place (except for the few blemishes).

- I have lived on the Island for almost 31 years, (and my husband for 62 years) we have always found it a good place to live, the people are friendly and welcoming. I think it is nice to be able to go to the town and always see someone you know to pass the time of day with. There is a feeling of community about the Island. Unlike what has been said previously Kings Park is improving all the time and the units over there now are beautiful. Lets face it it's the people that make a place and thats why Canvey is a good place to live that speaks for itself with the amount of people wanting to buy property on the Island. The very best thing of all is that all the nasty foul mouthed judgemental people don't stay here they move off, leaving good people to enjoy living in in a happy community.
- The girls on the beach in summer
- the conservative club, must be well built to still stand
- When I'm abroad I tell people that I live on a small Island just of the English Mainland.
- Seeing the oil refinery lit up at night on the way to Canvey
- The best thing about Canvey Island is the fact it's sinking, the sooner the better I think, the place is just a dump.
- Is there anyone around still that was stationed in Trieste,N,Italy. 768 Static Workshops,Montebello (R.E.M.E) in 1948.
