The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Canvey Island.

Pubs
  • The Lobster Smack... its so rural, so out the way and has such a good atmosphere when you need a quiet drink!
  • jellicoe. the fodd iz quiet alrite
  • Back in the day it was the Haystack or the Windjammer. What a name for a pub - the Windjammer, sounds dodgy now doesn't it? I was so innocent...
  • DA JELLICOE
  • DA JELLICOE
  • da jericho
  • kanute is great and the lobster smack is laid back and has poo etc and on the sea nice
  • i like the oysterfleet
  • Fraggles bare the prices are just unbeatable!
  • The Silver Jubilee, my usual spot. Its not the nicest place in the world but for a swift bevy its all good and very cheap to. Been to the haystack a few times, a spirit group pub aswell i imagine as the prices are the same, not that keen, it has a so called "club" next to it but its crap and you'll find if you go in there after closing it clears out within an hour.

  • Silver Jubilee, best pub on the island, no doubt. Only people who dont like it are the kiddo's who are too scared to go in!!!
  • The Haystack, The Admiral Jellico, The Silver Jubilee, The Lobster Smack, The Oyster Fleet, The Monico, The King Cnut.
  • who needs pubs when you can get all you need from Mr Grant Perry, or blue lexus boy as he's also known
  • Used to be The Haystack but when Ian the doorman started working there noone liked it anymore and quite understandably! Now it's full of bad staff that ruin the place.
  • blaze
  • there r lods of pubs but the 1 that i like is the Silver Jubilee.
  • we have 30 places at least to have a drink in a twelve mile radius.not one of em is worth writing about
  • we have 30 places at least to have a drink in a twelve mile radius.not one of em is worth writing about
  • The Haystack with its late opening hours should b shut down. Fed up wiv drunken yobbos walking past me house in the early hours.
  • Lobster smack (classic)
  • Admiral Jelico - Saw dust & Blood
  • the pubs are crap, none let kids in so unless we wanna sit outside getting freezing we don't go
  • zzzzzzzzz
  • Haystack is good, the rest are dives
  • loads. Most of them are dives except Haystack really. but that still is a bad pub
  • Haystack for everyday of the week - they do quality & VERY cheap food
  • too many but if ur up for a friday nite brawl then check out th haystack but they also hav music an games an obviously drinks goin on all nite
  • haystack
  • Silver Juberlee, Haystack, Admiral Jellicoe, Windjammer and the monico all dodgy places.
  • You get a great meal in the Admiral Jelicoe with really friendly service. The Lobstersmack to is another good place to eat with good service and great atmosphere
  • when was the person who last updated this site actually in the silver jubilee. what are they talking about young men like bantom cocks. this place is full of regular customers who have been drinking in the bar for many many years try going back in. and the food is unbelievable value. and is the only place on the islands where parents can get to have a drink while there kids play in the superb ball park
  • oysterfleet (interesting history to occupy a drunken mind, much more interesting after a few whiskys too)
  • HAYSTACK on a Friday!!
  • Haystack, gets too busy and you can't get a drink
  • The Haystack is my usual drinking establishment and me and my mates can be found in there most days in the summer. 14 hour drinking sessions on a saturday.
  • LOADS AND LOADS OF GOOD ONES.
  • HAYSTACK COOL, LOBSTERSMACK OK, JELLICOE NUFF SAID
  • the road to ruin
  • haystack and the monico windjammer are probably the best on the island
  • Silver jublie, lobstersmack, oh god loads more!
  • they have totally destroyed the king canute - this place used to be an absolute riot!!! lock-ins, steakers, riots etc etc. whatever happened to gary that ran the canute? silver jubilee just full of young blokes strutting about like bantum cocks with their chests sticking out!
  • Spose its got to be the haystack?
  • Lobster Smack. Just is my favourite. By the seafront, nice atmosphere...
  • The Haystack in the centre of town is the best and most lively. Others include the Silver Jubilee, the King Canute, the Lobstersmack, the Admiral Jellico, the Monico and the Windjammer.
  • ref: silver jubilee house bitter now 1.40 a pint!!! family atmosphere? good for a punch up now days
  • Haystacks: Town centre pub - pretty crap...
  • Silver Jubilee: Haven't been there for a while, but it's a bit of a more 'family' atmosphere type of place
  • Admiral Jelicoe: Old geezer's pub when I last went there.
  • The Silver Jubilee was recently taken over by new management and is much improved. Their house bitter at 99p a pint is good VFM, but gives you terrible farts the next day!!
  • Pubwise, no-one has mentioned the King Canute (or Red Cow to us old gits). Probably best left unsaid....
  • The Haystack is terrible and full of wankers. The Windjammer and Lobster Smack are much nicer if you want a drink and not a fight.
  • Haystack on a tuesday night, it's karaoke,so whether you wanna sing or just basically go down there for a good drinking session with your mates, it's a laugh,be there!!!! Friday night not bad either!!!!!
  • there is a new pub called the Lobster smack
  • The Haystack, Shite! The Windjammer, Excellent home cooked food. Good ales, Nice people. All the rest are old boys pubs.
