  • Chapter Arts Centre - sell really scrummy bangers and mash
  • Chapter is unquestionably the best for independent film, it's a solid, real part of Cardiff and UGC is good for splitting the difference between the mainstream and independent but it's still a big cinema.
  • There's a whacking great UGC, and a Ster Century down by the station, which always seems to be empty. Even though it's got much bigger screens than UGC.
  • UCG cuz my mate used to work there and we'd get in free. Be warned, he used to work behind the bar serving food and if people were rude to him he'd drop their food on the floor. I believe they still offer this service.
  • The UGC is excellent. However a mouse came running up the stairs just as the lights were going down the other day and shit me right up.
  • The UGC is pretty cool.
  • UGC, though the ABC was a great place, infact i used to work there myself :)
  • Ceap day on Tuesday at the millenium cinema complex only £3 to get in.
  • Chapter Arts Centre in Canton for indie and foreign films. Ster Century in Wood Street for blockbusters. It's only £3 a film.
  • ster century is the best. any fil time or day or movie only 3 quid
  • it has to be one of the best cinema complexes in the uk. Its stylish and huge.
  • Chapter Arts Centre in Canton is great and has a bar too.
  • UCI by far. Especially on Under 18's night at Evolution. And I thought Old Spice was mandatory for ppl OVER 60....
  • UGC, very swank. Right next door to a nice bar too so thats always handy :)
  • Most information seriously out of date !
  • ucg, uci.
  • the UCG cinema opisite the CIA(Cardiff International areana) deffintly worth the travel of about 20 miles
  • Plenty of choice in fact, Cardiff is spoilt for choice!
  • ABC/MGM - cheap, gone... Odeons - cheapish, gone... UCI - expensive, but comfortable, 12 screens, at the bay UGC - expensive, but comfortable, 12 screens, in town The only difference is in the initials... Also independants - the Globe (Art Centre cinema) Albany Rd plus Monico Twin at Rhiwbina
  • UCI................my sisters houseemate works there and maybe someda I'll get in free..................huge spangly new affair with padded seats and everyfink
  • Cardiff has the highest number of cinema screens per head of population! Right, there's the Odeon in the Capitol Arcade, the brand new UGC multiplex opposite the International Arena, the so-new-it's-not-yet-open multiplex next to the Millennium Stadium, and the UCI multiplex in the Bay. Most of these seem to have bowling emporia attached to them too.
  • The Monaco is the only real cinema left in cardiff, all the others are film hypermarkets.
  • Globe was the real old skool cinema. Was briefly offshoot of Chapter now a Bollywood showcase. Odeon was the biz too.
  • Would I travel miles to see a filme there? ha ha. Chapter is good, apart from that.....
  • UCI's pretty good, but the seats are uncomfortable
  • Queen Street Odeon and ABC both closed.Chapter Globe closed but is supposed to be re-opening as a Bollywood venue. The Monico plans to close when the two multiplexes in town ,UGC and Ster-Century open, sometime in 2001.Ster-Century has no car park and is next to the Millenium Stadium .
  • Looking for a place to blow all of your money in one go. Try the UCI at Cardiff bay. If you and your mates put your money together at least one of you will be able to watch a film there.
  • Theres the ultimate cinema here the UCI 12 screens 9 bowlin alleys and a massive arcade, good value bowling but the popcorn is a rip off all the cinemas in town have been torn down :(
  • Chapter for arty farty films and cool range of beers and vodkas albeit pretentious.
  • UCI in the bay. HUGE. Food costs a small fortune, worth it for the occasional big huge new release. When Titanic was on you could hear the ship sound effects through the screen walls !!
  • Currently building TWO new multi-screens. Why?!
  • The old Globe - in Albany Road, Roath has now been taken over by Chapter - for all those strange arty films. I also like the Monico - in Rhiwbina - if it can stay open in the face of competition from the Multiplexes.
  • The ABC on Queen Street reminds you of the old days prior to horrific 'out of town' gaffs.
  • UCI, Cardiff Bay : Biggest cinema in Wales ? 12 screens, all Dolby Digital. Student Discounts ALL the time. HUGE parking, Bowling, restaurants, cafes, cars - go at night and marvel at a 100 metre long 10 metre high wall of lit glass - INCREDIBLE Architecture - and seats accomodate two (armrests lift!!) - but take your own sweets / drinks - food is expensive ! Capital Odeon - Behind Virgin Megastore in "Capital Exchange" centre on Queen Street - small multiplex (4/5 screens), some dolby digital, but expensive, limited (if any) student discounts, easy to get to Queen Street Odeon - On Queen street, half way between castle and Virgin Megastore - two screens ABC, Queen street - two doors away from Odeon Queen street - students £2.20 ALL THE TIME !!! OK'ish cinema, two screens.
  • ABC - Queen Street (3 screens) Odeon - Queen Street (2 screens) Odeon - Capitol (5 screens) UCI - Cardiff Bay (12 screens, lush seats and moveable arm rests), nest to Hollywood Bowl
  • New UCI 12 screen in the Bay
