Arts, crafts and such
- Oriel Art Gallery, recently refurbished. King Street Gallery.
- PPLease correct the address for Origin Dyfed. We left St Mary Street 6 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The adress is now 26, Blue Street, Carmarthen.
- loads of shops scattered around town
- For crafty stuff, Garems in Crosshands is good. They've got loads of wool too!
- art gallery in Nott square check it out
- 'Lickleys' at no. 16 Queen Street is definately worth exploring for gifts, cards, jewellery, furniture, art, ceramics, and a lot more. You can even sit back and enjoy a cappuccino and piece of cake in their coffee shop. Tel: (01267) 238300. Web: www.lickleys.co.uk
- 8 darkgate is ace for arty stuff and sewing stuff, very friendly
- Community Crafts by the library has loads of bits and pieces&the women in there are really nice. DO NOT go to the craft shop that's opposite Partners - the women in there are evil and must be destroyed.
- Oriel Myrddin is an absolutely fantastic art gallery, and there's a new art gallery allocated above the craft shop next door to the library :) they have some really nice people working there :) and the library occassionally has art galleries allocated below the actual library.
- Merlin Art gallery, quite good. Art shop just round the corner. Quite a few little craft shops around, they tend to move a lot so go hunting.
- Erm..there's one right on the end of King Street- next to St Peters car park.
- Nomads- next door to Pacifico on King Street sells loads of Indian stuff- just go there and you'll see. Smells really strong though- be careful not to pass out!
- There's a gallery at the Art College
- Carmarthen Art School - now a gallery with the weird, wonderful and simply innovative. Opposite St Peter's Church entrance & always worth a look, even if the prices are way out of your league
- Errmm.. that's all too civilised for Carmarthen folk
- The Mount Antiques, Craft & Gift Centre in Carmarthen is situated at the top of Castle Hill, next to the entrance of County Hall. They sell lots of different things including old & new furniture, modern gifts, lava lamps & other lighting, musical instruments, toys, collectables, ceramics, candles, baths, doors, fireplaces, prints & paintings, books, etc, etc. The staff are very helpful, and the prices very reasonable. Their telephone number is (01267) 220005.
- The recent Exhibiton of "old & new " photo's at the library in connection with the civic society was outstanding . Congrats to the collector of the originals and also to Martin Walters for the new pictures , if you can locate another venue for this it is well worth a look . Definately for the "culture vulture"
- Origin Dyfed, 1 St. Mary's Street. Beautiful, locally produced quality craft.
- Oriel Myrddin has lots of items on display and for sale.
