- metros, waterside
- I dont think the previous comments on here are very up to date. I've never heard of the Riv! Jolly is now closed down. I think 'players' is where the riv used to be, its pretty good, lots of sofass, pool tables and tv screens. Waterside is now almost empty every saturday night, with remarkably young patrons attending. Metros is the hot spot, £10 free bar all night, its where you end up at the end of the night. Savannahs ... for the oldies. Spread... mostly the townies. places ot go: outback, winebar, three salmons ...
- ive been going out in carmarthen for about 4 years and it is crap! waterside is the best night club in carmarthen and that is shit! metros (the other night club) is full of farmers or fat heffa's that look like shit! carmarthen has reiculasly young patrons especially the following places outback, jollytar and waterside! it is rediculas! wine bars alright but its a bit small, rose and crown is a nice pub, quins club yey! the best place in carmartehn!
- waterside has been refurbished 2007 and is looking good and has some good named djs on fridays and live music give it ago i had a great time on the last ministry of sound event
- waterside is fab!
- Carmarthen is a good night out if ur with the right ppl,, make sure you go to the JOLLY TAR its 1 hell of a place banging music cheap drink and u can also go out side the bk and the owner pete is a legend, after that u should go 2 waterside great muisc the dj is a mate of mine steve cogan and the bouncers are cwl
- Waterside is trhe best by far, Metros is okay, Savannahs is defos for yer mam n dad, Jolly is shite but ppl go ther 2 get drunk
- The Wateride plays a lot of that cliché club music, and whatever is in the charts at ear bleeding volume and is crammed with chavs. I've only been a few times, but a good night will end at the Waterside - just make sure you stop off at the Jolly to get drunk first.
- There's the Jolly Tar, but it's always full of Chavs or completely empty. The toilets are despicable and I would rather kill myself and choke myself violently over a bridge, before going back there. Savannah's, I've been told has a reputation for "granny pulling", The Waterside is good at some times, but it always seems to be DrumNBass, which doesn't help if you can't stand the stuff. The other pubs I've hardly visited, but I doubt they can be much better.
- FOR SUCH A SMALL TOWN THERE IS QUITE ALOT OF CHOICE! NOT GONNA LIE AND SAY ITS AMAZING BUT ITS WOT U MAKE IT AND WHO U TAKE WITH YOU, AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF NUTTERS TO MAKE YOU LAUGH IN CARMARTHEN!! warning STAY AWAY FROM UNION STANDARD OF STUDENTS GOING DOWNHILL IN THE LAST FEW YEARS
- I went to Savannah's - holy cow! I was not prepared for all the manky old men! Although one did run away when I told him: "the next part of you that touches me, I'm keeping!"
- the union on a wednesday night spend many a drunken night, best three years of my life everybody knows and loves each other, well there are a few bitches about but thats expected
- THE WATERSIDE ON FRIDAY NIGHTS : ALL SORTS OF MUSIC {apart from cheesy townie chav pop} see tangled parrot . check out FAT LACE these boys know how to rinse with their drum n bass, breaks + more . and check out BEND SINISTER breaks , electro etc. tearing as f**k . worth moving to carmarthen for oh if you ever get to see that paranoid scarecrow fella do it .
- jolly ta...where all the underages go...an all the oldies if they lookin for an 'easy' chav to pull out on a sat nite (if their desperate enough)
- Jolly Tar - choc-a-block with chavs if you're unlucky enough. Waterside - just... urgh. Wine Bar (fine), 3 Salmons (good enough), Metros (townies), Flares (now over 18), Savannahs (over 25), Outback (always fun). Phew, no wonder they call it the Wild West.
- Waterside is hosting an array of different genre's for all music lovers. Check out tangled parrot for more info.
- Waterside, Flares (used to be the Riveira, and not the chain club flares!), and also Metro, and there is the big Union for the students. On a Saturday night its completely commercial everywhere so for bands/Djs etc.. check out whats happening on Fridays at teh Waterside.
- Carmarthen is always "buzzing" on a Saturday night. The most popular club among the younger patrons would be Waterside, because it's the easiest to get into. Then there's Metro's, which is down in a basement. Only been there once, no real opinion. I always enjoy in Outback, which is an Australian themed bar down some alleyway, with my "local" kebab shop just metres from it! It has an upstairs and a downstairs, and plays hardly any dance music. Good atmosphere, almost always packed (it's a small club). Jolly Tar is one of my favourites. It's like a pub, but with blaring music, and attracts a lot of "skater" type people, despite the dance music. Sometimes though, they do play rock and other things. It's down by the river. A new Flares opened recently (also by the river), but it's over 25's, and so is Savannah's, but my 16 and 17 year old friends got in easily. Wine Bar - seems to be full of townies, but it'll do. They play Goldie Lookin' Chain every time I go there, but I think it's a jukebox. Not sure.
- The riv is no more... sniff sniff...
- The Waterside in Carmarthen is now hosting regular music nights.Every Thursday is Unpeeled(after John Peel),an alternative night.Every Friday there is live music or DJ's playing.See www.tangledparrot.co.uk for more info.
- river side, riviera
- The Waterside is full of Townies - it makes me sick. Savannahs is full of wrinkly old people and farmers & Metro is full of townie slappers.
Besides - I don't believe in 'Dance Music'.
- REMARKABLY young patrons is a understatement for the Waterside which plays cheesy dance music. Metros is the best club in town for those legal to drink and Savannah is the over 25's club of the town, the only people wh go here are the people who want to "grab a grandad".
- Waterside rules!!! It is dead smart since being done out.
- The nightclubs in Carmarthen all cater for townies or farmers. The Riv is good on nights when someone other than the owner has organised it. There are often local bands playing down there - Halloween (31 Oct. 2003) will have at least 5 local bands playing - make sure you are there!
- The Waterside was completely refurbished in 2002 and is by far the best club in the town. And the cheapest for that!
- Waterside Nite Spot was refurbished completely in 2002. This proves to be the best club attraction in Carmarthen.
- Metros i suppose, but I never go coz Ive heard it's really lame! Best place to go is Face/off in Escape in swansea on a firday night, they have 2 rooms: Indie room and Metal room n it's quite good compared to anywhere round here!
- oooh the Riv
- I don't go clubbing, but here are the clubs I know of- Waterside, Savannahs, Metros..
- Waterside- never been in there, but it looks a bit rough and grotty and cheap from the outside. There are others though...
- The Waterside side has been given a major revamp in May 2002
- I once worked briefly at the Waterside - the folks who ran it were a laugh and looked out for us, and my fellow barmaids were easy on the eye and fun to work with; but when my friend from Manchester called by unexpectedly to see me, it prompted her to describe me as looking like a 'rare orchid' in comparison to the clientele, (now that's saying something), and to offer me money to leave immediately.
- riviera club for under 5s
- Metros- Queen St
Savannahs- Lammas St
Waterside- Coracle Way
- Clubs in Carmarthen are shit, it's official, there's the Riv (as it was known) or the Waterside (as it is known). Both are shit, the waterside is owned by an ex-rosser, read into that what you will. There are a couple of others, don't bother, do yourself a favour, go home, go to sleep, you'll feel better for it.
- Us lot only ever go to the Waterside. Yes, it's complete pants. Yes, going there when you're 18 makes you feel old. But it's better than sweating like you're in a sauna in Metro, watching the empty dancefloor all night in the Riv, or grabbing a granny in Savannahs. So there!
- They are all crap, Metro: Beered up townies out on the weekend; Savannah's: Beered up single mums into karioke; Riv: Pilled up crusties, someone OD'd outside there once: Waterside: Smells like shit (no really it does); S.U.: Don't even go there baby, Rugby players (nuff said).
- For the younger crowd the place to go is the OT's (or the Riv as we oldies know it). The Waterside, Metro and Savannahs are the only other clubs in town. Metro's has just had a revamp, so it is no longer known as 'The Pit'.
- Liviera's all right for a laugh. Pubs, cinema...
- Savannah's on a Saturday night(over 21's only)- Not Bad Harveys - alright i suppose, The Riv. - full of kids The Waterside - best by far but still not brilliant
