Live Music Venues
- The Parrot Music Bar and Cafe at 32 King St has live music every week with nights every Weds,Friday and Saturday.
Check facebook.com/theparrotmusicbar for details
tangled Parrot record shop is above on the 1st Floor.
- A new venue, the Parrot Muasic Bar and Cafe, opened at 32 King St in 2011 putting on a variety of gigs and events.
- Waterside have bands in on friday nights sometimes, you can get a pretty good night
- the jolly...
- The Jolly Tar, despite what they say, has moved up in the music world of late.
dont bother on a week day unless its wednesday but there are occasionally really good bands down there.
The Riv used to be good but then some prick bought it and turned it into a 70's revival club and now its shiteeee
- top DJs Cally and Juice appear in waterside every so often and Fat Lace
- The Jolly Tar advertises itself as the premier music venue for Carmarthen, to be fair, it probably is. It's a nice little place with gig nights Wednesday/Thursday/Friday (you can get a flyer by the door for a list of events). Gigs are sometimes empty, but when it's full it's great, lots of characters. Pete, the owner is a real friendly guy and the bouncers are a good laugh as long as you don't piss them off.
The Waterside occasionally has gig nights as well.
- I thought Gramby's (or whatever it's called now) was ok for bands for a while but it seems that the woman who runs has no clue what she's doing i.e. kicking everyone out an hour into a gig - after they'd paid to get in! Sort it out lady, or you ain't gonna have any custom!
- waterside on a friday nite...rock...drum n base...etc
- Waterside on a Friday night, or so I've heard.
- 3 Salmons Pub, The Granby Pub
- The Quins club now hold some sort of Welsh live music thing every Friday night, and The Vibe have bands too sometimes. And The Riv.
- The Waterside is now the place for live music and DJ's carrying on from the Riviera which has had some great nights in the last 2 years from Jarcrew to the Headcase Lads ,David Wrench, the Caves plus loads more and numerous dance nights including the regular drum n bass night Fat Lace.
- The Riv is the best place for live music in Carmarthen but there isn't always something on.
- 3 Salmons now let bands play on a Friday nite, nothing bi tho. OTs (previously known by us oldies as THE RIV) plays rock music, they usually have bands playing every Friday night. For those who are into the grungy, rock kinda stuff then i suppose its okay.
- The Riv again - but only if someone other than the owner has organised it e.g.Tangled Parrot or Louell.
- Riv has live music fridays, end of the month
- OT's has lots of good bands playing there. They have drum n bass night's aswell as Ska punk nights (theres one a week this friday!) I strongly reccommend them :)
- OT's!!! It's started having live gigs! Started off with a punk covers band (Unlucky Punks). But Jarcrew played here as well (think Fugazi, At The Drive In), nearly always supporting someone in Cardiff. Things are looking up....
- There aren't any dedicated music venues - hard to believe really. Hey, maybe I've spotted a gap in the market.
- Trinity College Students Union
- Paxton's Inn - for those who thought Carmarthen had nothing (interesting) to offer on a Sat night, you're right, but head out. The pubs in the country are great, this one particularly, if it's still going. All those free meals had to cost them something...
- Live music in Carmarthen, you've got to be joking
- Carmarthen is CRAP for music venues. There's so little live music it's untrue. The best live music you'll hear is when I crank my guitar up a bit.
- Trinity College
