• You mentioned here that Carmarthen Quins play in Division four of the Heineken League. We are now currently in the National Division ONe playing against the likes of Aberavon, Dunvant and Pontypool. We also finsihed fourth this year 2000/2001 in our first season in the league.

• People from Carmarthen are alright. Friendly rivalry with the Turks (Llanelli lads) and the Jacks (Swansea lads). Only problem is too much in fighting between farmers and townies. Ignore these minority ideots and join those of us with two brain cells to rub together.
• If you ever visit Carmarthen, make sure it's in the summer time, that way you have more of a chance to be invited to one of 'Robert's infamous pool parties. They are events that cannot be missed.
• The best thing about Carmathen is Bro Myrddin Secondary school because it's fresh for skating. Worst thing: the police are always telling us to move on; loads of people hate us and there isn't that much to do compared to other towns.
• I used to go to Bro Myrddin school before the "big change". It used to be called "Queen Elizabeth Grammar School for Boys". I went there from 1976 to 1980, and then to Maridunum in Johnstown from 1980 to 1983. We used to Skateboard in the Bro Myrddin school when the craze came around the first time in 1979-1980. It is a cool place to skate! We never got thrown out though! Apart from that there really is not a whole lot to do in Carmarthen unless you play rugby or ar an alcoholic!!!!!!!
• I'm from Carmarthen, now living in Edinburgh. Carmarthen is the most boring place ever, the best thing about it is the train station, because it allows you to escape from there. The worst thing about it is that it actualy exists, and my home is there. There is one good thing about carmarthen, the Heritge Centre on the river side below Tesco's, it has a groovy touch screen info application there. Apart from that it's the only place I know where you can go to a party and be passed a splif by a copper...
• Carmarthen has a good variety of brews, excellent fish and chip shops, and some of friendliest people! Both the town and gown play decent rugby. I hope Old Grumps, higher up this bulletin board manages to stay away. For my own part, I enjoy returning to Carmarthen and especially enjoy a vist to the lively market place. The Blue Boar, the Friends and the Ivy Bush were good pubs but I wonder if they still exist. In years past singing rivalled Heidelburg. A stroll along the river bank is always good for the soul. As one who frequents Carmarthen in the tourist mode I find the town well-place to spend a night before visiting Pembrokeshire and the park to the west.
• Despite the fact that there is little to do in Carmarthen, for the whole part the people are friendly and for a wild night anywhere in the UK you will not find a better place for atmospheric pubs.
• The Carmarthen Quins play in the Heineken League 4 Division and their youth players are often snapped up by the bigger clubs such as Llanelli. For example their outside half is Stephen Jones formerly of the Quins and Bro Myrddin and captain of the Welsh Schools side.
• Apart from the sound, the Lyric cinema is great place to watch films as it's years old and feels like a place where you can relax unlike some of the new generation cinemas.
• Don't believe the knockers, Camarthen is brilliant for a night out on the drink. Start at Hamilton's wine bar, this is apparently where Shakin' Stevens lost his virginity (upstairs where we used to watch the rugby internationals), and is just opposite The Vaults and The Pit, and just along from The Queens. I haven't been back there for about 5 years, so a lot of this is from drunken memory, but I have a lot of friends in Camarthen and all of them are mental (in the nicest possible way). I also fondled a Camarthen bird in the carpark outside the County Court (where I slept on numerous occasions). Being a Scot, I always got a brilliant response from the locals when trying to order my beer in Welsh. Lovely people, lovely place, lots of good memories. That's it!
