The Best Things in Chatham, Kent*

If you're around, be sure to check these things out

You can tell us more about Chatham.

The Best Things
  • Lords Wood, Walderslade they are good
  • The best thing hasn't happened yet, invasion of pirates at the docks that go on a pillaging spree and cut up all the freaks and drunks around town.
  • Anything by the River
  • The River Medway flowing, ebbing constantly changing - it feeds the life blood in to Chatham and Rochester and Gillingham.
  • There are nice places when you look for them, view from Victoria gardens or Jackson's field, admittedly have to try ignore strood industrial estate...Fort Amhurst, The War Memorial on the Lines, Chatham Dockyard, Castle gardens (now all the small alcoholics have gone) or really anywhere with some grass to sit on that gets you away from most of the locals... Also quite a lot of very decent talented people, just takes a while to find them between the chavs and the arrogant others... Good transport links, 45 mins to london victoria and then to anywhere in the country, nice and easy to escape from (if you can stand the smell of the train station).
  • errrerrr, being able to laugh at chavs?
  • go to beadles nissan and check out the saddam hussain and tarik from eastenders lookalikes
  • beadles nissan in wood street brompton have you checked out the sexy salesman that work there
  • Under-16s, for £7, can get an Day Travelcard, which buys you return fare to London, including tubes and buses. Direct trains can get you to Victoria in 40 mins, so you could be in Camden or Brick Lane within the hour, if you are lucky.
  • There is no good things about this place it is full of dirty houses and streets, girls from the age of 14 carrying around babies with the "im rock hard attitude". They also where the whole of the UK jewlery collection around there necks and the lads are just as bad they think they are the hardest people in Britain. Never go to this place
  • the band screaming keith!
  • Proximity to London
  • LEAVING CHATHAM
  • The Dockyard
  • The people who live here. To live in Chatham, you need to be mad, or have a sense of humour. Most of us have a sense of humour.
  • The Tap n tin, and the fact its not too far form London
  • Dont be silly
  • That one day i can move away, and it wont matter where i go, i'll appreciate it
  • D&A toys. poundland
  • Bee and leah possiably the only grungers!
  • Loads of clothes shops for the shopaholic in you.
  • When you go to University, coming from Chatham gives you a hard-man mystique!
  • Incredible history when you look beyond the skanky bits.
  • The community spirit.
  • It's got history, you know ! ( but don't expect most of the locals to know any of it)
  • You can get out of it quickly
  • Dockyard's nice if you like old stuff Pentagon - only place to find shops
