Live Music Venues
- Tan and Tin is dead, not the Medway music scene. Despite the owner moaning in the press, no band in Medway will ever want to play in such a pissy dirty unfriendly deserted hole and be charged for the privelage.
- The Command House have outdoor music festivals by the river during the summer. All styles from Indie Folk Metal Punk Acoustic from the local original music scene. No entry fee so worth a beer in the sun! (Info added 2011)
- The Alexandra Hotel
- Rafa when its on is good, good mixture of live bands- some are pretty decent and its good for the little ones cos its over 15s!
- Tap 'n' Tin in Military Road Chatham, Manor Club on the A2, Secrets also on the A2, Beacon Court in Gillingham.... Medway could do with a bigger venue
- The Prince of Wales in Strood, is a cracking pub nowadays. It used to be a bikers/travvellers pub many years ago, but has been run by Pete and Cathy for a good few years now. Really friendly, and hosts folk music every Friday, dont be fooled by 'folk music' on Fridays though thinking its all nicey nicey folk, because Punky/folk rock local band - 'Ted cant hear ya' regulary play here, on Friday nights and they raise the roof with full PA amps and drums! Saturday's is Rock n Rol / Rock a Billy night and there are some briliant bands play this
The Kingshead pub in Rochester High Street another Sanjay owned pub) aka Veena Leisure - a good group, Sanjay is ok. - is a great pub with live Folk music on Thursdays - this night is growing in popularity recently and is quite often packed especially with the more lively Folk rock bands - (for example Ted can't hear ya are booked here)
- The Prince Of Wales Strood - is a cracking pub, where Friday night hosts Folk night with great folk / folk rock bands Sat host Rocka billy- Pete and Cath who own the pub are a great couple really nice and friendly and the pub has full music licence - Medways punky folk/rock four piece 'Ted can't hear ya' play this regulary - they really 'rock and play Punky folk to blow your ears off! so do'nt be fooled by the 'Folk night' bit always worth a visit!
