You can tell us more about Chelmsford.

Record Shops
  • London, 'Tis the ONLY place to be. SLASH If you interested in real vinyl spinners come to. SCREAMWAVECLUB :D The only thing worth doing on the eve of halloween. Come and shake the night away.
  • h m v is the place to be
  • I'ts got to be slipped disks on Baddow Road for this one, it still has a personal touch about it and you can pick up copys of free magazines suh as vice, the fly..... ect.
  • slipped discs II is good, even though its a bit expensive.
  • Slipped Disks \m/
  • Slipdiscs 2 in baddow road, had a varied single selcetion. Other then that it sadly must be the HMV in the High chelmer
  • Slipped Disks is the only one worth mentioning.
  • Bubba G's (they also have really cool alternative clothing)
  • Dirty dans
  • Slipdisk
  • They sometimes have a record fair in Chelmsford town hall, and that is good. You can get loads of records at reasonable prices.
  • HMV, Virgin etc....
  • slipped discs, hmv and tescos 4 cheapness
  • wolly's cause they always have cheap records
  • woolly's is the best place to get records alothough you would think they wouldn't have anything good its a great place to get the top hits for well low prices
  • i always found that slipped discs II was a grandiloquent shop for music. it can be a bit pricey at times but the service has always been superb, the staff in there used to know my tastes and when i went on my monthly binge, they'd be more than happy to help find that one illusive record and more than willing to let you stand around for hours listening to music on the headphones.
  • Slipped disc2 is good for finding those slightly more unusual bands!
  • definatly slipped disks 2 ....... definatly the best selection and quality although if ur not into anything obscure hmv is the ansa for cheapness.
  • Slipped Disc + HMV
  • hmv, our price, andy's records!
  • Slipped Disc in Baddow Road is enexcellent record shop with really helpful staff.
  • Used to go to Daryls shop (esoterica) but that was years ago and it has long since shut.
  • SANITY AND HMV
  • um slipped disc i spose thats pretty kool!
  • The ONLY place to buy CD's etc. is Slipped Disc II. They do a nice range of offensive T-shirts too!
  • There's a monthly record fair at the town hall on the High Street. Some good old vinly, and cd's there.
  • Slipped Disk 2 is excellent for your alternative bands and CDs that nowhere else bothers to stock.
  • slipped disc 2 r da best they have everything from clothes to cds and everything u can imagine.
  • slipped disc 2 in chelmsford is wicked if ur a greebo or grunger its got gr8 music and gr8 clothes so get on down there. its pretty cheap to good quality stuff.
  • Bloke on the market and Slipped Discs II
  • Slipped Disc's, and Music Box or woteva its changed its name to now?!
  • Whey! Slipped Disc II...they rock....totally. All your album's and vinyl's from there. Andy's is good... the people who work there all resemble famous metallers...ti's cool.
  • Slipped disks, even for standard muzic
  • our price is good but what beats that is virgin.
  • Slipped Discs II is "where its at" if "u like that crazy s**t"
  • Slipped Discs - they sell Rawkus t-shirts yanno
  • undoubtably da best record shop in Chelmsford is SOUND PROOF down broomfield road
  • Slipped Disc - great for imports / rarities ... I got the Family Values 1999 cd in there - with the free bubblegum! And I also think Woolworths deserves a mention
  • Slipped Disc, HMV, and Music box r the best places for cheap(ish) music. Or the Market which often has old or pirated CDs
  • as every1 knows - slipped discs 2 is the only place that stands out. it's just such a kool place to buy music from, during which time you can look at the clothes in 'booyaka'. - i love this shop.... and the prices aren't bad either.
  • Slipped Disks, Andy's Records
  • Oxfam is da best!!!!!! for those cheap greebos
  • Sliped Discs rules!
  • HMV The Market (Cheap and tacky but great atmosphere) McDonalds Burger King Special Reserve
  • SLIPPED DISKS NEAR THE SHIP (PUB) IS GOOD FOR VINYL PUSHERS- YOU CAN ALSO GET BIG EVENT TICKERS FOR THINGS SUCH AS RAINDANCE AND SLAMMIN VINYL!
  • sliped discs is the best, i swear they put the seccond hand cd's in as new though.,, big price but got what u want 90% of the time.. cheap compared to hmv for the most part though
  • It HAS to be Slipped Disk...they sell cheap records and also buy & sell secondhand ones(opposite William Hill). It also sells really alternative clothes(The shop-Boyaka) although it's mostly a more skatey shop now...still cool though!!
  • There's a couple of record shops on Moulsham street that r good. They do old style, the modern and some specialist stuff u may not get easily. I'm not talking about the first single Take that made. Any 20+ female would have it (poor things!)
  • the new virgin store is ok, but personally His Masters Voice will always be the best music store and thank god that chelmsford has one now!
  • slipped discs is the place to be as it sells trendy type music as well as greebo music so come here!!
  • Slipped Discs has to be the only decent music shop in chelmsford, it's the only place to get rare stuff, although their prices are typically independant. No big sales etc... We need more!!!!
  • HMV yeah. they sell mazza.
  • our price its wicked
  • There are the usual moosic shops in Chelmsford - HMV, Our Price + a few others such as Andy's Records(Its the best one of the lot - offers chart CD's for 9.99p.
  • Definitely Slipped Discs - Dennis behind the counter is a smashing bloke.
  • Don't even bother going to HMV (unless you enjoy being ripped off)& the Metal section is a JOKE! Our Price is a little less expensive and sometimes has 'sales' on older CD's that maybe you meant to buy but never got round to, but the assistants tend to be up their own ar**s and not very helpful. Music Box is the place to go if you want a fairly new mainstream CD as they start from £9.99. BUT undoubtably the best record shop is Slipped Discs II in Baddow Road. These guy's know everything there is worth knowing about (any kind of) music and if they don't have what you are looking for they try their hardest to find it and order it in for you. They also sell a good selection of Metal/Rock T-shirts etc. There is usually a record fair once a month (saturdays) in the shire hall foyer.
  • go the usuall but stay clear from HMV Too Busy!
  • Slipped disc's is great for CD's coz there's a wide selection and the clothes are good too but sound world is poo
  • HMV is good but the best is Sound Proof in broomfield road is da bum!
  • We've got an Andy's Records and an our price. A pretty good music shop however, maybe they don't sell records but hey, is Slipped Disc. I t isn't too bad
  • Slipped Disc is the Coolest CD store ever.they have really wicked Punk stuff on vinyl..
  • HMV is a rip off 4 albums, but there place where good cheap albums can be found is in Music Box on the High Street
  • slipped disc is the best and it now sells clothes at the back of the shop which makes it even better !
  • Ah, was there ever any better record shop than the one known as Special Reserve?
  • There's only one specialist record shop left in Cford, and that's Slipped Disc. Unfortunately, the staff are the most miserable b******s in the world.
  • Slipped Discs II sells some good, cheap CD's and rearaties, good place!!
  • Pop Inn closed down a couple of years ago, but in Baddow Road (off the High Street) there is now Slipped Discs II, which sells vinyl as well as more mainstream stuff.
  • SOUND WORLD
  • The pop in in moulsham street is now shut. HMV has opened in the precinct.
  • In addition to the mainstream drivel, there's Vinyl Rhythms on Rainsford Road (top of Duke St). Still (I think) the only specialist shop in the town, with emphasis on jungle and house.
[But] Vinyl Rhythms closed along time ago.
  • Also just round the corner from there (Broomfield Rd) is Laser Discount which has the cheapest CDs.
  • Finally Moulsham Street has Pop Inn, good for hunting down older stuff.
  • Andys Records and Our Price.
