• There is a disease spreading around Chelmsford, we've dubbed it "Essex Genetic Disorder" or EGD for short. It gives you sunken eyes, a pale yet spotty complexion, a need to wear clothes way to big for you in primary colours and a total life-consuming obcession with standing around outside Mc Donalds in the High Street. It affects both girls and boys aged 6 - 17 years - after that they buy cheap Fords and spent thousands on wheels and stereos - this is not your regular street-rodder - these cars MUST have standard smokey engines.

• Chelmsford Council should start taking the City bid seriously and get building a city centre for the future. Hence more tall buildings, decent facilities, pedestrianised areas, sports facilities etc.

• Always astounded me how many shoe shops in Chelmsford. If you EVER need a new pair of shoes Chelmsford IS the place to go on a shoe-hunt.

• If you don't like the Wheatsheaf or are underage, but want to play pool, There is Rivermead Pool Club (near the river mead campus of Anglia Uni) it's not much to look at, but it's only £1 to join and 50p a game. (and they STILL have that Spice Girls poster on the wall)
• There are the most beautiful women living in Chelmsford. Has no one else noticed? There used to be a really gorgeous girl I think her name was Becky who worked in the Globe. i think she used to hang round the Y and was the younger half of the 'fittest sisters in Chelmsford'duo that provided much enjoyment for the local lads. Anyhow go explore for yourself!!!

• Chelmsford is not exactly picturesque or perfect, but still the atmosphere no matter where you are is good the people tend to be friendly and helpful. It strikes the balance between community, city and countryside living you just have to know where to look. I would not want to live anywhere else (except maybe Denmark)
• IT HAS THE PHATEST AMOUNT OF SKATEBOARDERS , GREEBOS AND TREENDIES IN ESSEX
• Ramp:age magazine is mostly a local music paper; interviews with bands playing at the loacl venues, and listings for those venues. I get my copy free from Slipped Disc.
• It's not all XR3i Turbo Nutters in Chelmsford, Triumph TR Drivers club meets first Wednesday of the month in the Duck Inn, Newney Green near Writtle, 8:30 onwards. The car club with the least anoracks!
• Places to avoid in Chelmsford: Chelmsford. One of the most boring places on Earth (after Cambridge). Good points: Not far from Thurrock Lakesdie shopping centre, and London. Over all, it's less fun than "Accountancy Today".
• The best thing happening in Chelmsford today is the establishment of the Chelmsford Presbyterian Church, meeting at Nabbot's Farm School. Services at 10am and 6pm. Skateboarders welcome.
• Places to avoid: The river Chelmer when arguing, there's rat urine in it.
• Best thing: No lack of public toilets, food shops that stay open late to combat late night attacks of the munchies, Inlines the coolest shop in the world as we know it (except Bottoms Up).
• Chelmsford has a bowling alley. It's got a Pizza Hut Express in it. It's OK but is prone to breaking down. Radio Stations - BBC Essex. Nuff Said.
