Demolish It Now Building
  • New flats on Lower Road.
  • I would like you to write a written detraction about the news you put on about Chorleywood Bookshop. It is in the Chorleywood places to be demolished. This bookshop is one of the most outstanding of its genre and won the most outstanding independent bookshop of 2003. I would like to know when this bookshop information was last updated as I can assure you the information is very wrong. The bookshop has changed hands many times and in 2004 is a credit to our village. Your website says ?when they (Chorleywood bookshop) order books it takes months? this is an utter lie as the bookshop now has a 24 hour order system and you can get an ordered book the next day. This is a service clearly better than Water stones of WH Smiths. The website states, ?They stock awful books and even fail to acquire the bestsellers that you see everywhere else.? This is rubbish. The bookshop is one of the only in the area that stock all best seller?s, Richard and Judy?s reviewed book every week/month and even stock?s the daily mail book club suggestions. I was outraged by the remarks written on the website about the owners. The present owners are one of the friendliest around. They make sure every customer?s need is fulfilled and make sure everyone has a happy occasion at their bookshop. To this comment, ?Despite the amount of small kids that live in Chorleywood there is no drive to cater for them at all? I would like to remind you that Chorleywood bookshop has a wide range of children and teenager books as well as a box of toys for the younger generation to play with whilst visiting to shop. To this, ?The two people that run it have completely failed to modernise the place in the ways that they suggested when they took over? I must say you must be talking of the previous owners. The present owner have knocked down walls to stock a wider range of books, painted the shop to brighten it up and added more lights so you can read with ease. I would like you to e-mail back and please publish my letter to you as I think you will agree your site is completely made of lies or truth of the past. You must look to the present and the future forget of what Chorleywood was and see what it is becoming.
  • Budgens and the Library
  • my school! plz st clement danes school is the most ugly, and depressing building in all of chorleywood!, and if it was flattened then i wouldnt have to go to school!
  • The bookshop, they stock awful books and even fail to acquire the bestsellers that you see everywhere else. The two people that run it have completely failed to modernise the place in the ways that they suggested when they took over. They have no allegiance with any publishers and that means that when they order books it takes months. Despite the amount of small kids that live in Chorleywood there is no drive to cater for them at all and they take no time to cater for anyone with an even slightly subversive taste in literature, in other words there is nothing interesting in the fiction section never mind any book that falls in to another genre.
  • Clement Danes school rank housing estate on opposite side of the Chorleywood valley to Shire Lane
  • memorial hall and the golf club
  • Budgens.
