Pubs
- The Stag pub up at The Swillett does a mean roast at the moment (catch it now as it has a habit of changing management regularly!)
- The Black Horse on the Common - beautiful oldy woldy pub, currently features in a Carling advert and some insurance ad too. Fantastic Sunday lunched and just perfect for sitting on the grass outside with a drink on a hot summers day.
- ok, well for the pubs, i normally go to the black horse on the common, its got a good atmosphere, becoz there are 2 open fireplaces going in the winter, howver no fit lads!
- The Old Shepherd, Jenny Wren, White Horse, Black Horse, The Stag, The Land of Liberty and The Rose and Crown.
- The Jenny Wren pub (used to be called The Gate) nice atmosphere, nice food but bit modern.
The Black Horse Pub - v.oldy woldy, excellent food esp. roast beef on sunday.
- The Rose and Crown. Small very friendly pub (the odd weird local)
- The pub across the Common has real character, ggod on you for keeping it so old!
- the stag....rose and crown.......land of liberty or sumink like that .....like i read the names!
- update on the Land of Liberty Peace & Plenty: A great, 'querky' pub (NO rotweilers!!), with a good selection of DRAUGHT and bottled Belgian beers and a landlord (Tim) who is not afraid to move away from the incredibly boring predictable British Pub food menus
