The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
  • Clanfield is like a hot dog - never enough going on, you always need to put sauce, onions, salt, beer and children in it. Failing that, go somewhere else.
  • clanfield is old there nothing 2 do its dull, thank god 4 the crap bus service that alows me 2 leave every day
  • Clanfield Carnival is NOT held in July It's on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2002. Loads of thing to do.
  • It would appear that the subscribers to the information on Clanfield do not look very far for there info! Clanfield is the home to one of the largest amature Astronomical Observatories in Southern England. Just on the border with the parish of Catherington at the top of Hinton Manor Lane, in the Portsmouth Water Co. Resoviour (a 6 acre site) is situated the HAMPSHIRE ASTRONOMICAL GROUP's CLANFIELD OBSERVATORY. Housing 4 major telescopes including a a 5" Refractor, 24" reflector(with CCD imaging capabilities), 16" reflector. 12" reflector a purpose built support building with conferance facilities plus there is Solar viewing with a Hydrogen Alpha filter. The Group has been in existance for 40 years. Regular visits are arranged all year round with two major open week-end (8.00 to midnight) events organised for the general publics benifit. These events are well publisised in the local media and TV. Visit our web site at WWW.HANTSASTRO.ORG.UK How could they have missed us? Richard Judd (Chairman)
  • Mark is King
  • Emm it's a really good place to live and people are really friendly. It has a mermorial hall to and a really nice pond and farms.
  • For all those who want a bit of physical exercise and don't want to hang out at the Costcutter, there is an excellent Judo Club at Horndean Community School on Tuesday at 6pm and Thursday at 6.30pm. Come along and check it out. The first session is entirely free so what have you got to lose?
  • It used to feel like Petersfield was the nearest town, but now the influence of Waterlooville is stronger. Which has probably made things worse. I'm not bitter, but Clanfield used to be nice, and now it isn't.
  • Lots to do in the village. There is a cricket team as well as Clanfield F.C. and several teams from the under 10s upwards. There is a youth club, but the discos in the village hall were cancelled thanks to the local idiots.
