I'm looking for info on the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion of the Manchester Regiment that I believe had a barracks in Holton-le-Clay in 1917.

My grandfather was in the 2nd Battalion and fought in the Battle of the Somme that started on 1st July 1916. Two weeks later he was 'posted to the Depot' and 2 months later 'posted to the 3rd (Reserve) Battalion.

Blairland, it's pronounced Blairland by Reader (Member 10122086) on 16-Oct-2006
'blrlnd' by Iain Brimswall is a social and political light satire having an unmistakable parallel with the late Blair period.

Searching for a reason........... by T (Member 10164641) on 22-Sep-2005
Anyone know why CLEETHORPE ROAD is not called CLEETHORPES ROAD?

I was thinking maybe its cos when it was named it was only leading to one Clee village (presuming thorpe was meaning village) and the plural came along later?

Please enlighten me for my daughter's homework - its been half my life since I was in school!

Improved? I went back last week and it was SHUT! SHUT I tell you - in the middle of summer! Plus there was a massive brawl outside the 'Bucket and Spade' aka The Sub - just like old times. Still, I did enjoy a nice cold pint (or 3) by the bowling green in the Clee Cons with my bro and his pals ......... Btw, hi Paul - am still breathing/partying and missing the old knowhere crew ;-)
