- Clitheroe is really a nice place, but if you're not from here, don't come here for a night out, because it can be quite shocking, but during the day, you're safe :)
- Thirty years ago the BBC TV made a short documentary about the local weekly paper, The Clitheroe Advertiser and Times. The quest of the documentary team was to find out how anybody ever managed to produce a newspaper in a place where nothing happens!!!

- Clitheroe is NOT in or part of Manchester. It is in rural Ribble Valley, in Lancashire.

- Clitheroe F.C. play every other saturday ( and some Tuesday nights ) at the Shawbridge ground which is located just behind the Bridge pub. They are in the North-western Trains League Division 1 and need all the support they can get. An ammusing day out is guaranteed with the wittiest supporters in the league by far, and the football's not bad either! ( they also serve great pies and burgers!!!!)
