- ahhh...the odean. im not a great lover of the odean generally. i only ever go there if theres a film that i really cant wait until it comes out on dvd. the chairs are sooooo uncomfortable..you have a numb bottom after 30mins so if youre watching a long film (e.g. lotr) then youre screwed. the food is so expensive..and so is actually going to the cinema...i pay £5.50 cos im a student but thats still loads!!! id rather go to ipswich odeon, or go to the cinema at Braintree Freeport.
- Odeon in Colchester is great
- the odeon is great me n my mates used to visit the old 1 all the time but the new 1 is fanstastic such a choice of movies
- To correct what's previously said- theres no virgin complkex in ipswich anymore, its the ucg. and the odeon is nowhere near liquid!
- (New) cinema in Head Street, is pretty nice compaired to the old one.. seriosuly like havin edwards just next door!
- colchesters new odean is great.
- the cinema has jus been re dun and its wkd big seats for people with fat arses
- Odeon located in Head Street.
- big with nice chairs, quite new.
- Much better now we've got the new Odeon but something missing now your feet don't stick to the chewing gum on the floor and you can actually see past the person sitting in front of you!
- 1 cinema and that is on head street and you can't miss it. Opposite woolworths.
- odeon. best cinema in colchester. shame they wouldnt let me into an 18 though.
- The odeon in town is wicked!
The space in there is incredible!
But whateva is happenin bout the old odeon? I thought they were making that in2 a nightclub!
- Has anyone not dated someone who worked at the Odeon?
- The new ODEON is very much an improvment to the old, lots of nice air conditioned screens.
- There's Rollerworld/quasar combined but it's full of big rudeboys with nothing better to do than pick fights. the new cinema is actually pretty impressive.
- The *NEW* Odeon on head street opend in 2002. to replace the herrible one in Crouch st. This one definatly rivals the Ipswich cinima, it has a bar as well for the pre- or post film drink
- We could seriously do with an arts cinema - the new odeon is not very big, not enough screens and still are not going to show real films.
- New odeon opening on head street soon! Thank god.
- Colchester Odeon brings only blockbusters. Travel to Ipswich or London, or during term time the Film societies at Essex have some nice & cheap film nights.
- the odeon
- Odeon - Current one is ok but not greate but new one opening just round the corrner form old one (top of north hill=newone) opening summer 2002. Should be a LOT better
- can they please put a bigger and better cinema within easy walking distance from the centre of town?
- The old cinema on Crouch Street smells like old socks. Hope the new head Street cinema is better and each odeon is sound proof, as you watch one film and have to listen to the soundtrack of the film showing next showing next door. Seats that don't leave you with crippling back pain would also be welcome!
- the Odeon. If the movie's not in screen 1...dont bother.
- all the places in colchester are great the cinema may be small then over ones but it is alot more cosy in there, why not get a group of freinds together and go bowling or quasar it worth every penny
- Cinemas is something colchester does have, Odean is good although stupidly expensive. New multi-screen huge cinema thingy opening soon
- I used to work in the Odeon on Crouch street, it was the most fun i have had at work. I find the comments reguarding the staff offensive, everyone tries theur hardest and has awards to show for it. It will be a sad day when it shuts its doors in December, to make way for a characterless new building. Long live Odeon Crouch street!
- The 6 screen Odeon on crouch street.
- i never realised popcorn was worth more than gold till now , possibly the most expensive night you can have whilst sitting in the dark for two hours !
- U can go to Rollerworld but its shit, there are always a load of garys and sharons
- The Odeon is great but v. expensive. we also have rollerworld which is the biggest skating rink in europe
- Rollerworld, oh dear, dont even go there!
- Do not venture to the Colchester Odeon, crap venue, crap staff, make the trip to Ipswich, so much better. Well worth the hassle of getting their. MAke a night of it and walk accross the road to not so bad Liquid...
- For the price the Odean charges you could go to the Virgin Complex in Ipswich and back by train, and still have change to buy a veggie burger (much better classier, cumfortable seats, more screens need I say more)
- Oh, the Odeon's alright, but I've a feeling they're paying Bob Russell and his ronies to keep putting off the planning permission for that multi-plex we keep hearing about - they might have to stop charging £6.00 for a standard seat on a Saturday night if they had some competition. Avoid going to the first night of a blockbuster because they make you queue in the basement - weird!?!! Good parking nearby on Balkerne Hill though.
- The Odeon has only two screens bigger than the average lounge, and I don't think anyone has found the hoover yet. Rollerworld is top banana when it isn't infested with kids.
