The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

  • Nando's.
  • People leaving comments about Colchester that just aren't true.
  • the amount of chavs, chav shops, macdonalds, hippodrome, all the drunks at night, the price of the cinema, public transport sucks in the morning, and in the evening. and during the day. so all the time. north station because its always busy, no matter what time of day.
  • The High Street at weekends.... Like a scene from 'Police Camera Action' Full of drunken squaddies, squalking women, students peed up on half a pint of cider and chavs in penis extension cars.
  • Theres absolutely nowhere to go anymore, and nothing to do!
  • People who litter!!! This the bench mark or pure ignorance. Someone who litters does not to deserve to be welcome on this planet.
  • MRS STEWART AND MRS BROOKSPANK SUM1 GIVE THEM SUM TIC TACS + A GD PERSONALITY!
  • There is nowhere for the younger adults to go out and enjoy themselves, instead they hang around the streets.Something should be done to keep them occupied at night and help to lessen the child crime rate.Colchester needs somewhere for them to go which carries on later than the odeon or fun bowling or the shithole rollerworld.
  • old bill ruing friday nites
  • There being no-where to sit at the top of High Street (besides the steps outside co-op bank).. seriously not easy trying to ballance on the bike racks (opposite Roosters) whilst trying to eat chips/burger/kebab at 3 in the mornin!
  • the townies, and the little ideots who think that the own culver square, it is quite funny though.
  • Greenstead. People that go around trying to start fights with you - last saturday, I was walking through castle park with my friends and some 18yr olds came up to us(we're 15) and asked who the 'hardest' was, trying to start a fight. Not good. Apart from that, and some other rough areas like greenstead, it's a cool place.
  • all the townys thinkin they are reeli hard gets on my nerves you walk round town and get abuse, its like yer jus tryin to do my thing leave me alone u freak!!!
  • the army (some of the squaddies are so rude)
  • Gary boys and girls
  • coporate companys
  • T K MAX.
  • SGR Colchester...crap local radio station with no personality whatsoever
  • The arrogant gits who own Turners clothes shop in crouch street
  • Squaddies, tramps & ppl who slag off Greenstead - they wana take a look at White City - that is 10x worse than greenstead.
  • Its a boring place to live
  • The lack of warm places to go if you're under 18.
  • The vistor info centre- a useless bunch of jobsworths who havn't a clue about whats on - and whats more dont seem to think its their job to find out and tell people.
  • The ongoing drive to build ever more houses with seemingly no coherent planning of extra schools, roads, car parks, playing fields, shops, recreational facilities. Witness the "Road to Nowhere" which starts at ASDA and ploughs straight through to a mini-roundabout that leads nowhere - useful. No A12 link, no point, what a waste!
  • Almost everything.
  • Few things to do. Loud lads. Everyone wants to leave this place.
  • trendies
  • The time it will take to properly regenerate the Hythe area after a hundred years of neglect.
  • big issue sellers too many of them........used to give to them but wont do it anymore on principle not sure where the money goes to.... traffic----too much====roadsystem needs someone who knows what they are doing
  • Lobotomised paras that roam the streets in search of a scrap. They're repeatedly told that they are the elite. Sad thing is they're all dense enough to believe it. They're only there cos it looks like their hard and they aren't intelligent enough to get a real job......every one is a potential security guard or car park attendant,(especially if they get shot and develop a limp).
  • Greenstead & White City Estates grim concrete city , ROUGH AS!
  • burgerking
  • everyone wants a fight. People stop you on the street to ask you. Squaddies are always on the look out, many people have died recently due to fighting in town so its well advised to stay in the pubs & clubs, not like the old days of getting wrecked in town and wandering about on the pull (what i did when i was 13-15, then got into pubs)
  • Squadies, need I say more. Allso, Queen Street, the tackiest place on Earth that isnt by the sea.
  • The traffic, caused by those bloody bus lanes that need to be got rid of. Suspicious smells near the Hythe. All the buildings responsible should be in the Demolish-it section.
  • To many Big issue sellers.
  • Worst thing about Colchester is traffic. If you do drive, avoid it in rush hour as you just won't move. Cycle paths aren't too bad (they did make some progress here), but it's a nightmare to drive through, and no real shopping focus - too many satelite shopping areas out of town.
  • The Greenstead Estate is grim grim grim. And there's a shocking amount of drugs going around - maybe due to Colchester's proximity to an international port.
  • The squaddies
  • Oh pretty much all of it unless you're a tourist. Worth a day trip if nothing else.
  • The traffic and totally useless Bus Lanes that only the local council seem to think are of any use and arrogantly refuse to remove!
  • There are some really ugly women in Colchester, I think some of them live behind the ATS Tyre place on East Hill and date coppers....it's like a scene from Deliverence. Colchester Zoo, should be called the animal prison. How can people leave with a clear conscience.
  • Narrow-minded attitudes. Rascism to the 1% ethnic minority population. Bob Russell and his sicophantic twat councillors - we don't want the New Town news Bob! It's a bunch of moaning crap. All it ever says is, "Naughty Labour have said this or that." I don't like any of you, but you're the worst. The council pulling down the playground in Attlee Gardens/Golden Noble Hill to build a car park and then referring to council house kids as 'that sort of child' when my mum complained. The lack of nightlife. Greenstead/White City/Highwoods...
  • HSBC bank in the High Street. Every lunch time it is full of foreign students annoying all the staff because they can't use the cash machines!
  • St Johns Street at any time is a nightmare for mothers who care about their childrens health; all due to that enviromentally freindly body called Colchester Borough Transport. ANYTHING with BOB RUSSEL on it!!
  • The extremely bad attitude of the bouncers and the barstaff in The Playhouse pub.
  • Hordes of students who moan about there being nothing to do because of the squaddies despite the fact that they never stray further than campus and wouldn't know a squaddie if it came up and bit them.
  • The insane amount of cars jamming up the town centre at all hours of the day and night.
  • The worst thing about Colchester has to be the 5,000 squaddies based there, who make half the pubs unusable at the weekends (especially the Wagon and Horses and the Castle).
  • too many squaddies fighting (although it can be entertaining to watch), too many students moaning about the squaddies and having nothing to do (I don't know what they expect, I have lived in towns all over the country and once you go outside London and other big cities Colchester is about as lively as it gets)
  • Squadies & Students in the same town, how unlucky!
  • The lack of decent night spots and clothes shops
