Keep up the good work all you modern Colliestonians, Memories are all very well and good, but I,ll stick with the indoor loo and electicity that doesn't go off as you are at the end of the ... more >>

Is there anyone out there familiar with Collieston. I am wondering if there are still houses there to rent short term like there was 30 (ugh!) years ago!

Have you! Seen any mysterious lights or strange objects in our skies lately? A non-profit making scientific research group requires serious reports.

Tabloid Fury! by Dave (Member 10013677) on 18-Jun-2000
Oo-er! Apparantly there was an article in the Aberdeen Press & Journal about this site... have I offended someone... doubtless with my comments about 'incomers'?? Rather proves my point, I think.
  • Re: Tabloid Fury! by carol (Member 10039077) on 26-Jul-2001
Dave, even as an 'outsider' to the village, you are entitled to an opinion.
However, your comment on the 'incomers' is a little naive and misguided to say the least.
Yes, the old characters are dying off (it's a natural process, you understand) and it's these very 'incomers' who are now helping to keep the village alive.
Dare I suggest you are a bigot?

  • Re: Tabloid Fury! by Allane Sinclair (Member 10039073) on 27-Jul-2001
Em!! Who are you? Not an incomer surely?

  • Re: Tabloid Fury! by carol (Member 10039077) on 28-Jul-2001
As you're such a staunch defender of the village, Dave, I take it we have your support (physically and financially) at the gala next weekend?

Hud in there wifie! Something tells me nobody else ever reads this tho'.

  • Re: Tabloid Fury! by Dave (Member 10013677) on 21-Nov-2001
Just a short note to put the record straight, and my apologies for taking so long to respond - I haven't visited the Knowhere site for a long time.

My comments were not intended to cause offence in any way, and if I upset anyone with what I admit was perhaps rather barbed wit, I apologise unreservedly. I take your point about the valuable role of so-called 'incomers' in re-vitalising the villag... more >>
