• the three horse shoes not that bad not that good either
• Only one pub now - The Three Horseshoes, a bit expensive but then it has a monopoly now. Apart from that, a very nice pub, friendly with a lovely garden - occassionally do a Bar-B-Q worth going for that. Also has a Pentaque Piste in the Garden.
• Contrary to the insinuations of another poster there have been allegations that the vandalism has come from somewhere quite different. Someone noted that the spate of vandalism usually ocurred after a meeting of the frienship club. Please draw your own conclusions!!!!
• It's true the Grapes has had a bit of a face lift. Something the drinkers there wont need to think about for many a year. However the old atmosphere remains. Someone out to get the 'Grapes' a bad name also ensures that the traditional Saturday night trail of vandalism always starts off from there too. But it can't be the customers as it's never there at the legal closing time, unless...
• I would like to add a further point regarding the Grapevine. A great deal of time and effort has been spent trying to efficiently replicate a 'wild west' feel. The locals seem to appreciate this and visitors often wonder whether it is a theme pub.
• Grapevine...bit of a dump nice if you like fighting! Three Horse Shoes...much nicer especially in summer. The 'Beer Garden' is really nice and quadrupels the capacity of the pub. The bar is a bit odd as it's kind of along a corridor, which makes pushing past to go to the tiolet a pain in the ass, literally, but other than that it's OK.
