Bridges over troubled waters by looking4luv (Member 10201340) on 23-Nov-2009
Sadly a police man was killed when a bridge collapsed in the north, now a number of other bridges have failed. Im so glad Corby was built on a hill and it only floods in a few places in the town mainly near streams. Corby has four bridges one carries a railway the others go over the rails. The three which go over the rails were built in 1874,the one on Rockingham Rd has proved to be better than it... more >>

Bridge on rocky road was narrowed as a part of a national directive after a few cars went over onto railway lines in various parts of country, and had nothing at all to do with strength

Fake posters. Want to belong... by looking4luv (Member 10201340) on 21-Nov-2009
landlord and myself are the latest victims. I think people do this because they want to belong to a community, they have not been accepted by their own communities so they latch onto what they concider popular and has views they would like to concider as their own. Sad really, we have to pity them. By the way landlord was in yours yesterday it was busy.

I'm still bemused about R. Oliff playing the drums for Thin Lizzie, I was there, did I miss something.

thin lizzy turned up but the drummer didnt. They asked if anybody could play the drums and richard got up and did the biz for them.

Let me ask you this Lookin4. This was about a year before "Whiskey In The Jar" hit the charts, where you actually there ? I mean a band on tour from Ireland and the drummer doesn't turn up. There is another story here but I'll tell you that personally.

I once saw Jasper Carrott too, but I can't remember if it was at the Civic or out of town. I once went to a Radio 1 roadshow at the Civic for about 1/2 an hour. Got a good idea. by looking4luv (Member 10201340) on 19-Nov-2009

The biggest group of illeagal immigrants in this country is officially Australians followed by New Zealanders,do they fit in with your plan?or dont they count?,
This town was built on a migrant workforce and is famous for its acceptance, i have always found this kind of racist right wing rubbish spouted anywhere in Corby to dismissed out of hand.

I believe British service men and women when returning to their home town should be allocated a council house if required, without going onto the waiting list. It on the news every day - if you talk about it to other people everbody has a view and opinion.
