  • The Crew, The Crown & The Railway Tavern in Nuneaton - all live venues run by the same people, and all good environments to listen to unsigned & tribute acts. well worth traveling out to for a night!
  • Taylor John's is the best live venue, by far. Live music including folk, jazz/fusion, blues, country, rock. Open mic sessions. Friendly place, even on the jazz nights. Warwick Arts Centre attracts top draw musicians and singers. Coventry is blessed with a surreal phenomenon: Decent cabaret bands that play good versions of slightly 'alternative' rock music. The place to see these people in action? - 'Escape' bar, possibly the friendliest of Cov's notorious, identekit 'glass and chrome' clubs!
  • the golden cross seems to be the best place at the moment. the newt and cucumber across the way are tinkering with live bans or open mic nights and stupidly cheap drinks....... sounds good. it is. i definately prefer newtz to the cross.
  • club bones
  • Up until about 6 months or so ago you always knew there would be good bands on at the jailhouse, however they lost their promoter and have either hired a fool or noone at all! Plus their choice of staff still leaves a lot to be desired the little kid manager is rude and the barmaids are awful! Go over to brum if you want decent music or staff!
  • The mail places for live music are the Jailhouse, the Colloseum and The Golden Cross close to the Cathrdral
  • The Jailhouse, Also went to c The Feeling at the Colly last Sunday, not a bad venue!
  • JAILHOUSE is pretty damn good.
  • Haha whoever put that about the jailhouse barmaid is sooo true!!! Theone with the dreadies who changes the colour of it every other week right??? Yeah she is a bit of a car crash isn't she!!! Is only half decent music place in Cov tho shame they can't sack that beastie then it would be great!!
  • There isn't really anywhere decent in Coventry. You could go to the jailhouse but you will have to ut up with the beastly barmaid they have in there. She puts me off my drinks everytime!!
  • epic skatepark have alot of bands playing also mc's
  • jailhouse full stop
  • jailhouse
  • jail house is where all budding artists go to try and get spotted by talents.
  • The Colloseum,Jailhouse,Cross,Dog and Trumpet,Pheonix and Tin Angel all put on live bands.
  • the collisseum
  • JailHouse (Coventry) - great live venue The Goldencross (Coventry) - smaller live venue
  • The Jail house in the city centre behind the courts, rock and metal. regular live bands.
  • The Jailhouse! Much park street, Cov's answer to CBGBs!
  • Scholars acoustic sessions on wednesdays are chilled and the talent of the musicians is phenomenal. the night hasn't really taken off yet, so it's not the busy, bustling club we all know and love, but you can get served within seconds. the tin angel on spon street is usually packed (not hard with a capacity of about 10!), but it's really "cliquey", so don't expect to be welcomed with open arms if you're new.
  • Graduates and West Indian - none of that cheeze!
  • The colly! Nuff said.
  • COLLOSEUM is getting better for live bands. not only do local bands play but the famous BABYSHAMBLES played last November. More up and coming bands are playing for example EASTERN LANE and BLACK VELVETS...... the JAILHOUSE also recently saw FIGHTSTAR headlining!! (if you like that sort of thing!!)
  • THE JAILHOUSE!!! it is the best place to see live bands, they have different shows for differnt music genres every night! check it out its behind the police station! best place to go for a fun cheap night out!
  • Colly
  • fivemonkeys on Monday have live bands playin www.fivemonkeys.com

  • the cottage, general wolf, jailhouse, cambell coli
  • Here Bar, Canal basin has live bands every sunday be warned it gets very full.
  • My mates play at the Colleseum coz its easy to get a gig otherwise, The Jailhouse has the best bands but it's way hard to get a gig there.
  • the colloseum has some good low key and local bands all of the time. thats about it.
  • No decent Music venues in cov (arena 2000 when open)?
  • the collesium and the jailhouse!
  • tic toc
  • None. Get some. Other than the colly, but that's full of "fucking kids". Listen to me, I'm only 22 but I'd still be the oldest person in there other than the bouncers. God bless the Colly. Bringing new music to a new generation.

  • Used to be Coventry University Student Union. Great days......
  • Really poor selection. Golden Cross used to have a band night as did The Campell. Coventry used to have loads of big bands. Event the Beatles played at the Hippadrome (Gala Bingo)
  • Every Tuesday night at the Four Provinces pub in Earlsdon, there is live music performed by anyone who happens by with a musical instrument and some talent. Bring your own instrument, or just go for a few bevvys and soak up the friendly atmosphere... the landlord (Kieran) is the guy with the drum...
  • THE COLLESIUM
  • The Colleseum is the best live venue Cov has at the moment and is getting better all the time.
  • None really.
  • ARE THERE ANY .... THIS IS COVENTRY THE ARM PIT OF THE WORLD AS FAR AS ENTERTAINMENT GOES I MEAN IF THEY DID UP THE OLD COV THEATRE WE MIGHT STAND A CHANCE
  • Warwick Arts Centre has a yearly rota of music. The Skydome Coventry Arena is getting lively, Jumpin' Jaks has a lot of Retro Stuff & The Collessum in Hillfields has some good, varied gigs. In this respect, Coventry has improved greatly.
  • I SUGGEST U GOT TO BIRMINGHAM OR MANCHESTER FOR THAT
  • icon

  • Colosseum
  • for live music from the charts basically this town is a ghost town other than good djs the only live music is cacky local bands
  • There's a few bands have played at the Colosseum this year. Other than that, go to Warwick Arts Centre
  • Malt shovels beer tent in the back garden is great. Beware Once the band is on tryng to get to the bar is nigh on impossible. Its worth it for a view of Fatman Terry though. Youll know him when you see him. Nigel, the landlord is a nice man but does a shit President Clinton impression ie New Years eve Last year
  • The Belgrade Theatre and Criterion Theatre are the only two in the City Centre but there's another ten if you are willing to travel for fifteen minutes.
  • The Hare and Hounds at Keresley is a fairly new venue for music, having all sorts of bands from folk to heavy rock. It sells "real ales" and f4rom monday to friday good food at a reasonable price. For more info look in the website www.hareandhounds.co.uk.
  • Only the Univerities, really, and a few pubs.
  • There aren't really any local. Nearest is probably NEC
  • The MALT SHOVEL, Spon End, has live music Fridays and Saturdays. The pub's too small, so the bands play in a tent in the garden! The tent has seating, a stage! a bar!! and a great atmosphere!!!
  • The Hare and Hounds at Keresley, Loads of excellent live bands, good food at lunchtimes, and great real ales, www.hareandhounds.co.uk

  • University
  • Warwick University & Cov uni both put on some decent gigs, warwick saw symposium, Super furry animals and Urusei Yatsura in the last 6 months plus loads of other bands.
  • MAINLY COV'S GIGS ARE LOADS OF DODGY LOCAL BANDS, BUT WARWICK UNI, COV UNI AND THE PLANET OCCASIONALLY HAVE GOOD GIGS, AND THE COLOSSEUM IS TRYING TO START A DECENT GIG NIGHT AGAIN; GOOD LUCK, GUYS!
  • None. Although they do have the odd classical music extravaganza out at Arbury Hall.
  • Upstairs in the Golden Cross (near Cov uni) for good local bands and Warwick university for more well-known ones
