  • there used to be a record shop on jardine cres when i was a kid....ahhhh the good old days..
  • Revolver records opp where boots is now!!! Punk haven!!!!
  • Decent selection of old mid-90s CDs (dance, chart, indie) that you won't get in HMV in Cash Converters (Forum, Walsgrave Road) and the Oxfam in the centre of town (Hertford Place). Goes without saying, they're dirt cheap!
  • Post-Spinadisc, all of Coventry's 'High Street' record shops are rubbish. HMV, Virgin - Nothing that you can't find in any other town or city. There is a cool second hand shop in the market - 'Midnight Records' - but this tends to cater only for the 'rockier' music fan.
  • virgin megastore is good and sells a huge variety of music, dvds etc as well as some clothing. bout the best in cov at the min
  • Tempest and Swordfish in Brum. Oxfam in town.
  • virgin
  • HMV and virgin!
  • HMV and Virgin are the Cities main record shops now that Spinadisc has gone.
  • Got to be Curly's in Liverpool, sorry Cov!
  • Connect AV in town every time
  • Try xchange & mart for your secondhand CD and DVD films on the cheap from £1.00 Address 84 Far Gosford Street, they open noon til six mon-sat.
  • Fop in leam has the best choice. Virgin in cov has the biggest range now. The record fair once a month at the methodist central hall can be gud. Shame bout Freakbeat, Hits n Misses and Spinadisc.
  • gotta be virgin and HMV and maybe even MVC
  • A brand new record shop has opened in shelton square , near MVC, its called connect records and sells evrythin from funky house, trance, hard house, progressive house to drum n bass. plus a load of dj equipment for beginners to professional.

  • virgin
  • we have virgin, anda selectioj like that, if you like your rock music theres a stall in the cov market called "midnight" which offers a range of old records to flick through and to find a bargain.
  • mvc hmv virgin
  • RAY GUN!!!!
  • midnight records in the market, and that new one in the lanes.
  • HMV has a fantastic selection of music and DVDs but try MVC for a more underground selection.
  • Virgin, by M&S in the city centre.
  • HMV IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME. JUST DOWN THE WAY FROM GOODIVA
  • Midnight Records in the market rules. Loads of old vinyl and CD's and a great selection of shirts and other stuff. Run by nice people too.
  • There are no descent recordshops, so we go to Birmingham!!!
  • I have foud that the best selection of records is at HMV - if you cant find what you want, then they will always import it for you. The best value however, is Asda!!Although you wont find much there.
  • Midnight records in the cicle market
  • MVC and HMV are good for obscure stuff. I know they're a highstreet chain but they can get pretty much anything so I think they can be included.
  • Woolworths, HMV in town!
  • go to the back of bubble second hand cds r cheep :). thers a dude in the market tht sells sum brill old rock music tho
  • Fopp in Leamington is probably the best place I know of other than that HMV in Cov and Virgin.
  • spin a disc was the best place to buy music in cov. but now all thats left are the mainstream stores such as mvc, hmv and virgin.
  • Spin-a-disc is the best in Cov for c.ds tickets etc...
  • hmv! or virgin!or if u wanna venture go to fopp in leaminton!
  • Spin-a-disc records! Lower precinct. By far and away the best record shop ever. I saw Silver Sun there and they were shit. It was still a fucking cool shop though.
  • bubble aint bad but only 2nd hand cds, can find some good cheap ones there everyonce in a while. theres some really cool place in the market that sells, all sorts of rock cds and records.
  • MVC is the best shop for a good variety of music at the best possible prices
  • the spin-a-disc in Cov may have gone, but its stilup and running in Rugby. you can order most records from there by phone and they'll tel u wen tis in the store, an if you ask nicely they mite even post it2u.nice place, nice people. but if u want decent records try ordering them online at www.Towerrecords.com, they ship allover the world and aren't badly priced. they have most things2 and you can listen to loads of the records online. rockin'
  • music box its small but cheap and they'll always order something in for you.
  • HMV - Hear The Masturbators Voice. Don't go on Tuesdays because the big fat smelly black bloke at the back will try and ass rape you if you try and buy a Britney Spears poster.
  • ERM WELL HMV DOES HAVE A GOOD RAP AND HIP HOP SECTION IT HAS 2 B SAID
  • Virgin , HMV, try cov market if your looking for something a bit hard to get.
  • Used to be a shop called Spin-a-disk in the lower precint - sold vertually any kind of records, CDs etc. Disapeared totally a few years ago.
  • MVC.COS ITS RIGHT NEXT TO A PHAT SKATE SPOT
  • Spinadisc shut years ago...Your better of going to Brum if you wanna find any decent tunes.
  • POSTERPLACE HAS GONE SINCE THE REALLY CLEVER PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE CITIZENS IN COVENTRY CALLED THE COUNCIL......THINKS NOT...... DECIDED TO RIP THE OLD COV THEATRE DOWN.....DESTROYERS........ TYPICAL SHOW OF WELL DO WHAT WE WANT ATTITUDE AGAIN HAVE YOUR SAY BUT WE WILL IGNORE IT...........
  • All crap in Cov
  • As a DJ at Saucered I use Freakbeat who are in Hales St, not at the bottom of Far Gosford St! It has cd's & vinyl of most music types & is run by a right bunch of freaky people - dj's & bands.check it out!
  • Coventry does not really have shops.
  • Virgin, HMV, MVC -- all the main chains. The independents have all shut down and moved away.
  • Theres a place opposite the Motor Museum near the Bus Station - sells loads of old records for cheap prices. Brilliant. And of course the Poster Place is great for...posters....and gig tickets.
  • chiccos
  • It was Spin-a-disc, but thats shut now.. so i'd say HMV.
  • Spinadisc has now shut down - the only decent place to get vinyl now is HMV (or Virgin I guess).
  • "Spinadisc" is great. Try "Freakbeat" too
  • Can't remember what it's called, but it's painted red and yellow and it's near the bottom of Far Gosford Street
  • Freakbeat records is excellent. They have practically everything and sell stuff by brill local bands like the superheroes too.
  • Hit & Misses, HMV, Spinadisc, Virgin Megastore and Wild Card are about the only ones who will actually have what you are looking for.
  • Spinadisc is really good in the Lower Precinct. Also the new one thats opened "Music Box" that is pretty cheap.
  • MIDNIGHT Records: now in the (indoor) Retail Market, open Monday - Saturday. Still excellent vinyl, best range of second hand records in the City Centre with large selection of Rock, plus Thrash, Goth, Punk, Glam etc.
  • Spinadisc (Lower Precinct), and Wayahead (Cathedral Lanes Centre) are the best two record shops in Coventry. There are also two HMVs, a Virgin and an Our Price. Oh, and Bang-In-Tunes, a dance place, a new 'jungle' shop that's just opened and "Hits and Misses", a collector's shop.
  • Midnight Records in the Friday open air market in the Lwr Precinct - excellent vinyl, dishy bloke, nice for a chat!
  • VIRGIN & NEW HMV; SPINADISC HAS GOOD INDIE AND CHEAP NEW ALBUMS, MVC IS JUST MVC, HITS AND MISSES IN GOSFORD STREET IS COOL, PLUS A COUPLE OF SPECIALIST DANCE SHOPS EG. WILD CARD RECORDS AND BANGIN' TUNES!
  • Theres an Our Price in the heart of the town. Whats records in Abbey Gate are another general purveyer of music to the gentry. The Entertainment Exchange on Queens Road has a vast stock of CD's and Vinyl all at second hand prices because, well, erm, there all second hand. I've bought some good rare and obscure vinyl there. Well worth a visit.
