Favourite Building in Crawley, West Sussex*
Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...
You can tell us more about Crawley.
Favourite Building
- Hollywoodbowl megaplex
- worth church
- The White Hart Pub in crawley High Street,a fine Tudor Building
- The original Gatwick Airport building. 'The Beehive'.
- George inn. Old town. Nothing good about the new town.
- The Beehive
- All the buildings in the high street. Look up the local history if this historic area, dating back centuries!
Also, why noy study ythe history of Broadfield and find out what the area was used for in the Roman times!
- The building next to the boarded up station house near the railroad crossing near town. Sorry, don't know the street name. The pretty building is red brick with cream edging. It looks Georgian and it is lovely.
- under crawley job centre to doss
- The Punch Bowl: Friendly staff and atmosphere
- the gay bar, gay bar, gay bar whoooooooooooooooo
- It has to be providian bank, they should change it to something more interesting though
- my third jump in my trails
- ikon/diva-
- County Mall and all the shops within
- County Mall
- it's actually a road,a23 heading out of town
- The mall.... nuff said.
- The George Hotel the original building of Crawley
- Firkin sorry the re-named Railway pub
- Troys kebab shop says Graham
- The George Hotel - still leaves a little bit of the 'old days' feel to Crawley.
- there all shit
- the SHED
- ikon/diva
- Firecracker & Firkin - so many happy memmories, before they changed it to THE RAILWAY
- my house. i've been there all my life and its the only building in crawley i love.
- The best building in crawley is gatwick airport.
reason being is that you can get a taxi, from any place
in crawley and be there in under 10 minutes.
This also means you can be 1000 miles away from
crawley in under 2 hours. Also if your lucky you might
take off on runway 27 left, from there you can give crawley
the finger at 250 knots,at 1000 feet
- Glass Building in industrial estate.
- Definately TROYS KEBAB SHOP!! No-one seems to have mentioned this place.... yet when you turn up there after ikon/diva on a saturday (early hours) the whole bloody world and his brother is there!!
- The Half Moon
- The old church in the middle of Crawley. Probably one of the last remaining historic buildings in Crawley. Get a cold shudder every time I walk past!
- yeah but not in crawley
- John Haig's shed was located in Leopold Road. It was demolished a few years ago to make way for two houses (Haig Villas perhaps?).
Railway Signal Box (High Street) - one of the few buildings of merit left in the town.
- The hospital, if you've ever been on the roof you're know what I mean. You can see the whole of Crawley, Gatwick and a lot more from up there!!
- The county mall as it has taken a spot which used to be a car park and thats where the carnival would end up every year!
- it has to be the FIRKIN, great people Great music
- John George Haigh's shed is still there, i think in spencer road
- Virgin Atlantic Airways, The Office, Manor Royal.
- The old wash house in Pound Hill.
- Virgin Head Office,Ifield Community College
- The Three Bridges railway station.
- The cinema - the view from the bar area is lovely (when the firemen are out in their yard!!!).
- snooty fox pub. Everytime I leave the train station it's the first building I see and it means I'm home again.
- The new football ground should be mentioned here: the Broadfield Stadium.
Not many clubs in the Dr Martens League can boast average gates of over 1,000, but the new stadium has brought lots of locals to watch their team in a modicum of comfort. But beware the main stand, the seats are wide enough only for the buttocks of anorexic teenagers, and even they have to squeeze hard to get both buttocks on.
After the game, have a nice walk up the hill to Pease Pottage and get the best pint in Sussex at the James King.
- the george hotel and a nice pint
- County Mall, because it has so many shops.
- Anywhere high enough to throw John Maggs (Crawley Town FC Chairman) off of!
