Record Shops in Crawley, West Sussex*
The places where you buy your music
You can tell us more about Crawley.
Record Shops
- Brighton
- my mate adam can do you a great deal on c.ds!!
- HMV seem to do the best 'deals' for DVD's but the younger Woolworth staff usually seem to know what they are talking about if your after info.
- hmv, or anywhere in brighton
- Hmm there's HMV, Not very underground though...
- we used to have smudge records that was good but yet again good old crawley has a good shop for 2-3 years then it goes down the tubes not unless if you want to go london everyweek to get sum vinals for your decks oh yeh big apple in east croydon has shut down sidewinder cd or tape packs 15 pound smashed it but not for long
- There's one in the County Mall that I can't remember the name of but it's round the back around near Games Workshop and Gamestation, so you can check it out if you like.
- Air Entertainment is about the best any serious record collector is going to get. All that HMV/Virgin is a bit of a bore. Try London or Brighton.
- Smudj record shop do some wicked drum and base, Junior the man to speak to in there.
- There's that record shop near the bike shop near the cloth shop!! and the usuals, HMV, Virgin etc...
- PURPLE ZONE!!!!!!! near macdonalds
- Crawley has its HMVs and Virgins, but the best place for cheap CDs is Purple Zone, opposite the church. This is proably the most interesting shop in Crawley since Spencers Gifts shut down. There is also an independent garage and drum and bass store opposite Purple Zone but I dont know what its called. Also theres this place called Airs' entertainment, ask where it is, this is well worth a visit 4 cheap games, dvds, cds,etc
- Smugdj (think i have spelt it right). What can i say ab out this place, something Crawley has been lacking for years now. There has been afew records shops that have opened in the town but none like this. They cover a wide range of music also a ticket agent and know what there talking about. Smudge and Junior keep up the good work boys. love ya Rob ( no not like that )
- hmv + virgn
- In all fairness there are some good record shops in Crawley, walk past a couple of times to make sure theres no one in there that might kill you and then casually browse, always buy something or the retailers will likely take you out the back and do all kinds of experiments on you.
- HMV's pretty good IMO, tho I go 2 Virgin a lot 2 - there's also a record store near the sk8in shop & Amici, which sells cheap CDs & also previously-owned ones (I got a pre-owned Alanis Morissette for £4). The singles r 50p 2! (& they sell dirty vids 2)
- air entertainment and hmv all have a gud selection
- Air entertainment
- Graham holds the record for eating 3large chicken kebabs in under 60 seconds
- there all shit a part from SMUDJ
- hmv hmv hmv hmv (as you can tell i like hmv
- HMV has a really good selection for a town so DOMINATED by Dance Music Fans. There are alot of Alternative Music Fans, but no they've destroyed the Firkin (the pub where The Cure first played) we are a dying breed. HMV still caters for us well tho.
- HMV, Air Entertainment
- Virgin Entertainment supply good music
- HMV- although it's always so crowded, the staff always seem too busy to help
- HMV, Virgin and Our Price stand out from the rest. These are specialist music shops and if you can't get what you want from the store then you can always order it.
- HMV have an ok metal selection - mostly garage and pop crap though. Virgin's not too bad for grunge/punk but harder to find decent stuff. You're better off going to Brighton or London.
- MMV+Virgin
- Crawley has HMV, for all your inflated priced needs, and a Virgin Megastore for all your inflated price needs. After that we have Air Entertainment, which is a dodgy looking shop with a story behind it. We used to have an shop dedicated to Dance, called Stax Records. Unfortunately that had to make way for the DJ wannabes because they couldn't find that 'special' mix 'wot Craig David done'.
- in northgate lanley green
and in southgate
- If you like UK garage then HMV isn't that bad but 2 B honest U may as well go 2 London or Brighton. By the way the train station is right next to IKON & DIVA
- HMV is o.k, so is Virgin. dont go to the Pooh shop !!!! you know the one, its really scankey, and smells of shite.
- HMV and Virgin Megastore.
- There are no specialist record shops in Crawley.
With London & Brighton both 30-40 minutes away,
there is no need.
- Notorious Vinyl, Church walk: Now under new ownership, they'll start stocking more hip-hop and other good shit. Will find special requests too. Ask For Steff, tell 'im Darren sent ya. ;)
- again county mall virgin and hmv stax records in the high street a small outlet and a new addition in church walk garage hip hop drumbass and all modern styles but no frank sinatra
- virgin is pretty good for punk/grunge. You can occasionally find something REALLY good. Visit East Grinstead (near Crawley) and go to Jingles (Railway Approach) for specialist stuff.
- Virgin Megastore in County Mall, HMV in the annex where The Martlets used to be.
- There is a record shop called Staxs in the High Street, although their selection is usually pretty poor. That's about it!
