Skateboarding Spots
- southgate playing fields where the skate park is
- The Only Skatebord Park was Burned down years ago
- pfft skaeboardings for pussys.
- there is a small skatepark in Waterlea adventure playground in furnace green, its a spine, mini, jumpbox, flat bank all in one ramp, its ok nothing special but at least its somewhere to skate.
cherry lane in langley green has 4ft and 3ft mini ramps, with a random 5ft 1/4 at the end of a path. the 4ft is actual beautiful to skate with a flatbank in the middle of it, worth a visit if u live in the area. (lots of little kids though :@)
- At the moment there isn't really much choice in crawley for skateboarding, the council have closed the skate parks but not yet opened the new one they promised.
- Broadfield barton, I have seen some guy doing some wicked moves here.
- Queens square..? oh no that's not allowed...
- between the cinema and holly woodbowl there is a nice 4 set but u may get chucked off - there is also a big gap comin out of the multistory carkpark down into the hollywood bowl car park area
- Queen's Square. You are supposed to skate there, as it's not allowed.
- Definitely round Crabbet Park shops (co-op, haridressers etc.) because they have some great path and also have a ramp round the back that you're not supposed to use but you can.
- we use to have a great skate park, until the chavs burnt it down! it got replaced but its now crap, no skaters hang around in crawley because we get told off in the town centre! theres no good skateboard spots, and there never really was!
- TRY THE SKATE PARK IN HORSHAM, IT'S AT THE BACK OF THE PARK. ITS OPEN AIR SO YOUR NOT IN A CAGE, ALSO LOADS OF PLACES TO WATCH OTHER WHILST HAVING A DRINK AND A SMOKE
- Crawley Skatepark (duh), the small area by TJ HUGHES there is four 5 sets, a 2 set and a couple of drops. By Oddballs there is some more stairs and ledges. In Queen Square there are loads of things the government have put in 2 stop skaters, but they only stop crap skaters cos most of us can ollie right over them!
- behind gamleys there are three perfect ledges and you never get kicked out.
walk to gamleys from macdonalds and when you get to gamleys walk around the corner and carry on going on the left there will be parking place walk down there and turn left again and there you go
- The park has recently been 'rebuilt'. it now has a 5ft mini, a pyramid, hipped quaters, steep bank, flat bank, gapped quaters, a quater,a messed up vert wall, a jump box and 6.5ft roll in with a large and small driveway. This is quite good but the fact that its outdoors means that its hardley ever skateble. still free. Now the council have the questionaires back from the skaters they will design a new park in the new leisure centre in sep 2005...
- Oh the skatepark...what fun days i had there. Back in the days when i used to go with my friends so they could see their sk8er boi's and i got 2 be in the cold or by the radiator. The skate park may look like a dump but theres more ramps now than there used 2 be. Careful if u wanna drink there cos the police tend 2 pop over and they'll take you home if they find you asleep by the radiator at 3am in the morning.
- head to asda near bedrock, big place can't miss it, few 3 sets and ledges. bit of a change from queens square
- If you go to the new asda then you will find some sweet sets like 2, 3 and a 4. Then if you go down the road theres a Hospital/old peoples home and theres a perfect and i mean perfect 7. ROCKY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!
- try get the number 10 or 100 bus and ask for a ticket to manaroyal center its a industreal state with loads of things. theres a 6 set with a low rail and gaps around every corner. danny B is the shit
- the salts in seaford has a new mini ramp on the tennis courts.4ft with 5ft kinked extension its pretty shoddy but its better then the old setup
- erm the bench on illbebanging street
- Yeah crawley gr8 2 sk8. Theres a nice 4set behind the brewsters pub at tilgate park and a 5 set. Search Tilgate to find sum cool grass gaps and loads of other spots e.g.if u go down ashdown stop at the bp garage and there is a sand gap.another grass gap is down ross close. Asda has sum nice Sets and a rail.
- Crawley has an 'alright' skatepark, but mainly visitors use it. Locals and regulars tend to use the queens square, in the town centre outside Woolworths.
Careful though, Crawley council has just paid through the arse for community wardens and extra pigs to patrol the town centre and the rest of Crawley. Also Cherrylane near where I live in Langley Green has a skatepark, but its developed into a burberry-only area with the townies and kevs.
- Crawley leisure centre
- Skate park in town, gone a bit downhill, just townie skank down there really.
- behind argos theres a 7 set with rail, marble 8 set at the bank, skatepark rules, kevs suck
- Skate park behind leisure centre, queens square and thats about the only places you risk being run over in.
- maidenbower - a little road beside the field where the new school is going to go. flat, smooth road, perfect for skating. No townies hang out there,it has to be good
- Leisure centre at Crawley
- Leisure center or town centre where else?
- Stairs next to T.J. Hughes, Cityplace in Gatwick, The Skate Park rules
- the skate park has now been built and there is a new rollin and a nice new flat bank
email me with more news luken_69@hotmail.com
- Queens Square as it has a contoured surface near the band-stand. Proper Skate-park at the leisure centre, nearby.
- At the back of Crawley Leisure centre
- Used to have a skatepark until some piro maniac scumbag ruined it for everyone. Nice mate. Hopefully someone will do the same to your house.
- Some little kev came down the skatepark at about 3am and burnt fown the roll-in, the spine, the mini ramp, the 8 footer, and the roof. Quite a lot of work for one night. This leaves the other mini, sub-box and some rather nice flat banks, and vert quater. The queens square used to be the best spot around untill they used every skate prevention technique known to man-blind man bobbles, rubber trips, metal lumps on the hand rails and blocks, the lot!!. Even with this ammount of money spent on it is still skatable, haha!!, but if i was id skate it when the shops are closed so as to not piss people and get ya board taken off ya by the police. Just round the corner from the square there is another skatespot with a 5 set and various ledges. This spot is fairly safe and you wont get hassle from the autuoritys. The station has a nice ledge and another 5 set. As of yet there is no plan to redo the skatepark. ill keep ya posted.
- Yeah, it was a great skatepark, until goddam TOWNIES burnt it down
- Skate park, not too bad by the leisure centre. Has drawn a pretty big skate scene...used to find most of the skaters in queens square before the council chased them away. I didnt see the problem personally.
- Queens square, skatebord park at the back of the leisure centre.
- Behind the Leisure Centre i the park but everyone goes to the town centre. it doesn;t bother me but everyone is making a fuss about it.
- QUEENS SQUARE AND THE HIGH STREET
AND THE SKATE PARK BEHIND THE LEISURE CENTER
- Byelaws now forbid it in Town Centre
- Crawley Skatepark has improved once again. Now we have all the stuff we had before, plus: A 7ft tall Transitioned Roll-in is now attached to the side of the Midi, there is a 20ft Quarter-pipe, with 4ft channel, attached to this is an 8ft wide Flat bank 40-45 degrees, 7ft tall, attatched to this is another flat bank, 30-35 degrees, 6ft tall, 16ft wide, with a hip. there is also a new rail, 14ft long 14-16" high. and the pies de resistance is a new launch ramp, this bastard thing is 5ft high with an 8ft transition on the front, then an 8ft table-top, then a 20ft roll-out, this shit is DOPE!
- The skatepark has now got a new wide quarter pipe and a couple of roll ins. From a bmxer from Oxted. As far as I know I am one of only two bmxers in oxted.
- The Crawley skatepark has been renovated recently (20/4/98), with a new surface for the mini, and a few more street obstacles (driveway, grind box etc.) Also, the local Borough Council have decided to impose a £1000 fine on anyone caught skating in the town centre.
- We managed to get the council to pay for it (after 6 years of begging) and they coughed up £75,000, which paid for: fresh tarmac, a ton of wood, a cover for half of the ramp, lighting, fencing and Dave Childs to build it. It is rock hard and very fast. There is a slight problem with some rollerskaters, who think it's theirs, but they will soon get the message. It has only been up for a week, but already we have had a number of skaters from Brighton, Worthing, and our surrounding towns. It is not yet officially open, but it will be on the 24th (I think), whereafter it will be lit at night (striplights above the ramp and flood lights around the edges.
- Everywhere's a bust these days, especially now that we have a skatepark! Try Town Centre
